My uncle had the state record bass for a little while in the 80's. Still is the biggest bass ever caught at False River. He's got it mounted and it looks badass. I need to get a picture.

I know someone who caught a World Record Yellowedge Grouper. However, two people reeled it in so it didn't count. I will never understand why they were honest about that but props to them. It beat the WR by something like 13#s. There used to be a picture on rodnreel.com but I can't find it now.

they probably would've got caught with both of them claiming to have caught the world record to all their buddies and eventually would've have told the wrong person

My pops use to say that false river use to be one of the tip spots in the south when he was at LSU in the early eighties.

But that what happens with over fishing and not properly managing-replenishing the waterways I guess

overfishing wasn't the problem, ridiculously poor water management is/was.

Unfortunately not me. I wish I could catch a speck that just makes the top 10.

If there was a category for blackbeery phones I would be a record holder. I caught one last year

I wish I had weighed some of the ones I caught in Bayou Robert as a teenager. Some of them caused a wake on the shore. Jeremy Wade would have had to change his panties.
