It's rough as shite at elmers right now. I saw noaa had downgraded the waves to 1 foot. It's more like 3-4

The Bolivar Peninsula north of Galveston has a policy where you have to buy a sticker and have it on your windshield if you want to drive on the beach. It's good for a year and is only $10, if I remember right. They say all the money raised goes to keeping the beach clean and it seems to be working.

Is there an advantage to fishing at elmers as opposed to just surf fishing on grand isle? Or is it all just about the same

Besides the fact that you can drive on the beach of course

yes, the main one being that you can keep a look out for kids with neck beards or lifted trucks, drink a beer and watch the folley

Compared to the state park it seems like the water is a little clearer. Maybe because of the rocks they pUt in the prk

I saw wwl and wvue reporting 8-15, but the wind app on my phone and the national weather service is showing 5-10.

You are right, many more windy/rain weekends than good ones. Ill be heading down to Cocodrie Friday - Saturday. As usual, I'm sure the weather will be worse than the forecast.
