I hear ya. I don't drink too much bourbon anymore these days, so a 1/5 lasts me a while.

get 2 bottles of 15 and put it up for 8 years cheaper than 1 bottle of 23 just aged in the bottle and not the barrel

Not to be the bourbon snob here, but can we please stop referring to Gentleman Jack as if it is bourbon. It's a damned fine whisky but not a bourbon. There's a difference.....at least to me. Ok, I feel better
