No ones mentioned it, but if you’re going to 24’ the avengers look really sweet. The storage/fish box/rod locker situation is very good on those. If you spend much time in lake borne, lake p, or the sound you’ll really appreciate the 24’.

I addressed it in subsequent post.
I’ve now expanded my range now to 23’ which will mean I have to keep it at a marina which is growing on me.
What is it about the Blackjack that makes it better than the others?

Imo, best looking bay boat 224, 256 on market, out rides boats costing much more, fishes bigger, owner is a phone call away.

The 224 is 23’1”. I’m not sure what is driving your size but make sure you’re looking at the actual length.
I’ve never been in one but the key west bay reef 230 seems to have rave reviews for a boat at that size

Get a Blackjack...no t-top and never look back
Blackjack's just ride so much better......like butter. They hold their value and are just a better looking and quality boat.
Did I say dont get a t-top?

I agree that they look good. I really like the look of the pathfinder too though.
Main issue I have is the size and the fact that I’ll have to keep it in a Marina. I also don’t have a dealer nearby but I guess Biloxi isn’t too bad of a drive. I’ll probably take a ride over this weekend and take a look and see if it rings all the bells.
I can’t tell from their website if they have rear jump seats and that is something I’ve now had to include in my must haves.

Metro boating is a blackjack dealer. Their rigging is very slick.

The 25's will the 22's dont...at least I've seen a 22' with back seats

You should definitely get a blackjack. They are sexy boats.

The designer/builder has a long track record of building excellent fishing boats. The options are endless in the bay boat market. This thread could easily go 20 pages.
I think Blackjack and Pathfinder are two sure bets for good bay boats. Plenty available. I'd start by taking a test ride on those two.

Pathfinder and blackjack look like two certain considerations.
I need to have the jump seats though.
I have a neighbor/friend telling me to look into Sea Hunt now. Not even on my radar but he’s insisting. I think he’d even let me keep it on his lift.
Anyone got opinion on sea hunt?

Sea hunt is on my list. I listed the 25 but I am really looking at their 22 which is just under 23 ft. They are a solid boat builder. They make a heavy boat that’s a lot deeper than many others. Will ride great. Won’t be as fast as a Pathfinder or Blackjack.

I think the frontier 2104 comes with jump seats. Same company that builds blackjack. The lines aren't as sexy as the blackjack but they still have the same good ride and build quality.

The Blue Wave Pure Bay 2400 have jump seats.

What are your electronics plans. Single or multiple displays and what size? Not all consoles will fit 12"
This would be important to me

Fit and finish. Ride is very good on the 224 for the size of the boat and draft. Fast good handling hull. Huge front casting deck. Sexy look. Only “downside” I have with it is the back tapers down so the rear casting platform is not as large as some, but it makes up for it in spades. With your budget, get the blackjack. Resale will be there if you ever want to move up. I have the 256 now and love it. Previously owned 24’ pure bay and that was a great boat too. Just wanted a little more meat in the bow to run for snapper occasionally.

Probably single and 10” is all I need.
I did a lot of research on the blackjack. Nice boat. I really wish I could get the jump seats in the rear on the smaller model. I’d hate to jump up a size just to get that.
Otherwise, I like their layout a lot. Smartly done.
Interestingly, as this process goes on, what I thought I wanted, has changed a lot. I’m starting to rule out the Boston Whaler and I’ve included others that I hadn’t given any thought to.
It’s also really frustrating doing research online for me.
I really appreciate the input on this thread

I'll give a vote for the Pathfinder. Fit and finish is fantastic and Maverick Boat Company is top notch.
The 2300 HPS will do everything you need and more, not sure it has jump seats, but there is aft deck seating . The 2200 TRS does come with jump seats.
We've had Pathfinder and Maverick boats in our family for 20+ years and I'd buy another on tomorrow.

Those look like a good mix of boats
Any reason blackjack and pathfinder didn’t make your list?
I have so much trouble making comparisons with these boats.
I would love to see a side by side chart of different specs for these boats kinda like you can get on Edmunds.com for cars.
