I just bought a .45 Kimber and it is a sweet gun. Paid 1K for it at Hebert Guns.

the nightmare carry is a mean arse looking pistol. I currently have the Ruger lightweight commander, and I'm planning on getting the nightmare carry for myself soon(ish)

WOW!! That didn't take long, <5 hours. I hope you like your Kimber.

Awesome handmade wood grips. No 2 sets alike. And you buy the exact set you are looking at in each picture.

I went and held one yesterday but couldn't pull the trigger. It felt too stiff when cycling.
Probably would take 2k rounds to break in.
The feed ramp looked UGLY too.
A little polishing and a lot of shooting and it would be a damned good gun.
ETA: You downvoters realize I'm talking about the sig and not your rugers...right?

Les Baer
And I have the ruger. Finish is horrible. Rusts like hell.

I had every intention of buying the Ruger but every single place I went to strongly encouraged me to spend $100-$200 more and go with colt, Springfield, or kimber.

I don't share the love for the ruger the rest of this board does. They have a very well documented problem with their finish. It doesn't hold a candle to my colt.

Colt for the win. I have an Auto ordnance that is a good, reliable and accurate pistol, if you're looking for less costly. Yall can keep the Kimbers and other tricky 1911's.

In the sales/service industry that's called up-selling.

quote:1+ Right now it's $100-150 extra; next time you go to the store, it'll be $150-200 extra; if you go enough times, they'll end up recommending a $2000 Baer or Wilson. There comes a time when the extra recommendations/advice become a nuisance.
