My opinion is that once you spook a deer with the scent of cigarette engraved in his head, it will haul arse anytime the smell lingers.

You don't have to buy the stuff made for hunting, but I do sometimes. Had good luck with Arm and Hammer Free. It was advertised as being scent and brightener free. Not sure if made any more.

Baking soda.

Native Americans used to use the "fire" method. They would actually coat their bodies in burnt ashes. WOuld mix water with them and cover their bodies in it. Guess it's better then smelling like buttholes. My personal preference is to smell like nothing. Not gas, body odor, buttholes,........nothing. Works well for me.

Not sure how well it works, cause where I hunt is hit or miss anyway, but there is a good sized fir tree on my way to the stand. I get as far as I can inside of it and try my best to cover my clothes in that smell.

Best is stay downwind of them.

I don't even want to admit what the best thing I ever saw pull whitetails in looking for it was though.

Spend tons of time by settin fires in my hunting cloths and don't get busted by deer very often

Scent control is one of those things I don't worry about much. I'm not that mad at em. I try to always face the wind though if I can.

Oh well, I tried.

Back to studying

ETA: it would have been hilarious if I was right though. I'll just keep my other guesses to myself
