The price of trailers, engines, and accessories is such a huge part of the price. There is no point in going cheap on the hull. (just my opinion)

2nd the Pathfinder, would buy another. Own a skeeter 22zx now and have no complaints. Smooth/dry ride and very stable. Also in that price range

i dont own a simrad but deal with a local boat dealer who deals both simrad and lowrance. They have more bad to say than good about them.
My buddy's sportsman has 2 7" simrads and he has issues with them both. I understand all electronics will have bad ones but thats all i got to go on so far...

you looking to upgrade or just be done with boats for a while?
Posted on 11/8/17 at 10:15 am to Chad504boy
Just something different. Maybe a flats boat or lake and bay type hull.

Bought it from harbor view marine in Pensacola but would not advise buying out of state unless it’s a big difference bc it’s a pain in the arse to Run around and pay taxes, title, and get everything registered. Also, if it needs to be worked on local dealers put you at the back of the line if you didn’t buy it from them.
I Thought I was getting a deal but when I went to pick it up, the dumbass who ordered it didn’t include the jack plate in pricing then tried to convince me I didn’t need one. So all in all I saved 1k but to me it wasn’t worth the hassle

First place I'd look. Don't have all the frills of some of the pricey name brands, but they always looked great to me and everyone I've ever talked to that had one loved it.

Yea I'm not seeing anything "downside" about SIMRAD. Have had both; lowrance HDS7 on last bay boat (nautic star), SIMRAD EVO 12 on Sportsman. Like the simrad a whole lot more
from my experience, spending time in 2 nautic stars and now one sportsman masters 227, they are fairly comparable, though I give the edge to sportsman on final fit and finish. Have had minor issues with BOTH brands on loose fittings n such from factory. Would not steer anyone away from either brand if that's price range you're looking at.....still ain't cheap!!

I guess the downside I was focusing on was that simrad is the only choice for sportsman.

That’s pretty dumb that they don’t have options
