Bullets have a little wider pad, which makes them a little more forgiving. The 21 you're running now is an awesome floater, they ride great, and handle big water very good. Other than an Allison, my preference would be a 21 Bullet, or a Stroker.
I was wondering about the Bullets myself. Friend of a friend dropped by us while we were fishing a tourney on Hartwell years back. He was trying out new props on his 21’ Bullet. Three different props, after every run he’d swing by n ask “How’d she look that pass?” LOL
If memory serves his first prop got him to 95 and change, second to 96 n change and last prop he turned 97.3. And this with a buddy in the co-angler seat :)
Personally, I’m too old to be taking up that game but I have always thought Allison’s were some sexy azz boats whether sitting still or skinned back. ;)

My P2 is not set up right. I feel it lean to my side coming off plane. I could fill the kicker tank on the left(10 gallons) to help, but I am bout to lose the weight of lead acid on my side with a couple of lithium trolling motor batteries, so I am waiting to see what happens.
Alx I’m curious to see how your rig changes with the battery switch. And I don’t know the weight of the Hamby’s but it may be a factor depending on what other gear you carry up front.
If you saw my post on BBC board I am still trying to get in tune with the whole chine walk situation. Having a bunch of Kraut in my blood ain’t helping me settle with running my Eyra at 72-73 when I know she’s got 8 or 9 mph still on the table. LOL

I have a Rocket. Very fun to drive and you have to drive it. I'm not chasing numbers anymore so it is propped to run mid 80's any day any load. I have put it in the 90's before but not consistently.

60 mph in a <20ft bass boat is around my limit, had a guy hit 63 in a Jennings bayou apexing the curves on a test drive for a Basscat. Bought the boat, but no thanks on the Cajun roller coaster

Had a hydrostream did 80 and an Allison did right at 100 , both were awesome but only in pretty slick water , next up if I can afford it is a liberator with a 300r.

My buddies old man used to spec fish out of his Allison all the time. I never went do that with them, but he swore it rode pretty good at normal speeds.

My ally rode well enough, just no comparison to a cat/tunnel. At speed Its having to drive the hell out of it vs one hand on the wheel

and it was
I'll keep my extreme speed in a vehicle with a cage and belts. Y'all can have that dumb shite on the water, I'll stay around 50.

A properly setup Allison with hydraulic steering will nearly drive itself.

Sounds similar to skeeters, if you need a little lift get some cup added to your prop. I was shocked the difference it made on my skeeter. Just that alone I got so much more boat out the water. Improved speed and handling. Had to adjust the jackplate some after.

We need to make another trip. Show me how to catch the Big ones.

I think one with center steer like an 02 would have been easier to drive by myself, I had a side steer Xb 03 it was easier with someone in the passenger seat to help balance the weight.

Getting older I rarely stretch it out and have sold the race boat. Still love to help others with their race boats and just being around them.
name checks out

In 1990’s had
Stratos which got 68 to 72
Cajun got mid to high 60’s
4 champions one got 76 mph
Bullet got 87 mph when it was new playing with props.
Any faster than that no way I would do it.

I run a ranger 18.5’ with a 150 and a 14’ John boat with a merc 5hp.
I don’t care about going fast, but I’m also not insecure about my penis.

I used to run a 15' cajun with a 3 cyl 90 that would touch 60 with the load just right. That was a spook ride if there ever was one.
