Anyone partial to a certain type or brand of sock to keep their feet warm? My brother in law gave me a pair of merino wool socks last weekend and i have to say that is the warmest my feet have ever been while sitting in a stand. I think the package said "Rocky" on it and had a picture of a ram on it. I found a Cabela's card in my truck today and figured I would order a few pairs of good socks. I've been pretty satisfied with the Under Armour stuff ive used but its so damn expensive.

As long as they are merino, it doesn't matter.

Love under armor as well. If you know any cops or military get them to order it for you, usually they get a pretty big discount. I have a few favorite socks, the big grey thermal ones they sell at walmart with the red and black elastic at the top. Also "hot hands" have kept me in the stands many times when I was ready to go home.

Use unscented powder or deoderant on your feet before you put your socks on. Also dont blast the heater in your truck on the way out. If possible dont put your boots on till you are walking in. I wear a pair of slip ons till I get out of the truck.

All this to say, if your feet are sweaty and damp by the time you get in the stand it is not going to matter what type of socks you have on.

I have several pairs of Thorlo athelic socks that I wear under wool socks.

I also keep my boots/waders in the truck or house so they are not cold when I put them on.

Also put anti-perspirant on your feet to keep them from sweating. Heard that from a former NFL player. He said they used to do it. Also wear a thin poly pro sock as a base layer under your wool same as you would your upper body.
