Ford has recalled 90,736 vehicles for a potential catastrophic engine failure.
Faulty intake valves could break in certain 2.7-liter and 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engines.
The 2021-2022 F-150, Bronco, Explorer, Edge, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Aviator are affected by the recall.

Ford Recalls 90k ecoboost engines

I'm guessing that number will end up being significantly higher...

I'm shocked they admitted to reliability recall. Unless maybe "catastrophic" is a highway safety issue.

Shitty thing is the earlier 2.7s were pretty god damned impressive.

I'd kill to get that mileage out of my 5.6

Because the government's CAFE requirements. Smaller engines under more stress and raised operating temperatures break parts. Engines today, regardless of size, are setup to run at 210F + as the higher the temperature the better the efficiency. Thinner oils, higher temps, tighter tolerances all contribute to less reliability and margin for manufacturing errors.

you are clueless. it's coming to all trucks eventually with how the epa has been used to takeover the industry.

Because it’s been the second most trusted engine behind the 5.0 and gets incredible mpg.
I need a truck bed but don’t always need truck power. I drive 30 interstate miles daily. 2.7 fits my driving perfect

That said, this sucks and I’m glad I have a 23. Hope this problem doesn’t bleed over but I’m sure it will

I drive a 2017 F150 with the 2.7 and the 6 speed. I'm pretty similar. I use the bed a lot but don't tow much. It's been a good truck and that little engine will scoot.
