This also shows why limiting mag capacity will result in more injuries to law abiding citizens. Real life ain't like the movies, where every bullet has a homing beacon to the intended target. People miss, especially under stress.

Shoot that bastard in the face next time

I think most people see "center of mass" as the general middle area of the chest. Now whether or not the general public knows to reference this area as the "9 ring" beats the shite out of me.
If he hit him in the torso 6 times and the guy still managed to crawl away, he's on some pretty intense drugs.
I just think it's funny when people can't believe someone can be shot with a pistol multiple times and not die on the spot. It happens all the time. Then again, like TexasTiger said, the human body is amazing sometimes.

You can get in trouble for it, and most probably will get sued. One incorrectly placed shot that hits him in the back, boom, your in jail. Chances are he will get sued. It happens all of the time. Sorry that it how life is, but it happens. Might as well tie up all of the loose ends and get your story straight.
Unfortunately, most of the questions you will be asked are geared towards making you slip up. Might as well have a clear head before that happens.

Bad guy would have killed me dead, with one hand scratching my balls and the other reaching for a cup of coffee. All the while asking folks to please just shut the hell up.

I doubt you get much hell with a heroin junkie in your living room armed, no matter where you hit him. I'd imagine the investigators would take the actual facts into consideration

Something is just not right. I get 1 shot center mass with an arrow, expandable no less, and there will be no life support.

Yeah I don't doubt he got hit that many times. I just don't believe they were actually center mass.
Accuracy kills. Drugs have nothing to do with it. You hear all these scenarios where cops shoot the piss out of some PCP'd up guy and he goes all zombie on them and shite and usually what you find is they only actually got a kill shot in there like once and they didn't last long after that. The rest were just hits. Drugs or not, if a guy decides he's not going down without taking you with him, he can do it. Drugs are a shortcut to that mind state but it happens in combat as well.
Unless you KILL them, they don't have to die until they decide to or they bleed out.

Its the civil side of the law the guy has to be worried about. The family of the guy will probably sue costing him lots of money.

Amen dude.
People are still amazed when I say "shoot them until they hit the ground." Hollywood really does a piss poor job of portraying reality and misleading the public.

The whole "shoot them in the front" thing is kinda BS, especially in your own home. Besides laws protecting you if you have a justified shooting in your own home, imagine this scenario:
Guy breaks in with gun, you start firing, he runs away while pointing his pistol behind him and firing blindly as he runs away. Should you stop shooting his direction since his back is the intended target? NO! He is obviously still a threat and can still kill you with a blind shot.
I'm not trying to make an example out of you but I hate the "you have to shoot them in the front" BS. If the guy is running away and is unarmed, by all means, let him go. But if he has already established himself as a threat, who knows what he may do next.
This is the thing about self defense encounters - they are extremely unpredictable. That's why laws do nothing to help us and everything to help the criminals after the fact.

I've heard stories from police and even seen on COPS where they shoot the guys 10-20 times from <10yds and they are still charging. It is amazing what smoking one laced joint can do to someone, but it happens
Yeah I remember a video a while back of a fat white dude on psp or angle dust that a hoard of cops unloaded their 9mms and he stayed standing for a while. It was crazy how many 9mms he took before dropping.

I guess it's hard to picture from a second hand account reading it on a message board.
I just don't get how he didnt wake up when the door was being kicked down. It's very loud, and hard to do on a front door.
The biggest thing is why the badguy just stood there watching your friend go and get his gun, and empty his mag.
Oh well, if the guy was a burglar and entered the home with a gun then he deserved to get cut down. Good for your friend.

Life Support= machines keeping his brain alive long enough for the staff to all provide some billable services before they unplug him.

Which is why you shoot to "STOP" them. Which means you don't stop shooting till he "STOPS". Now if that just happens to mean he croaked as a result... poor baby.
Somebody up top mentioned getting your head straight before talking to the cops etc. bullshite. You don't say anything beyond he was trying to kill me and I stopped him and now I want my lawyer. Do NOT trust anyone that's asking you questions right then. You say one thing wrong and your life is on the line again.

Oh yeah, I understand. That was just a general idea that I was using to try and explain why you need to get your story straight. My first call will most probably not be to the police. I'd rather have someone there with a clear head to figure stuff out. If it takes time, it takes time.
You will be interrogated, and most probably sued. Get your shite in line to protect yourself from any negative consequences and it will lesson the likelihood of any reprocussions
