My truck is 2WD. Never again. I've never gotten stuck, but I'm overly cautious about it.

There's places on our lease that you can't go in a truck without 4x4 and a locker. It's about a 10 mile drive from camp and on cold days guys trailer their 4 wheelers to the entrance. I'm not going through that much BS, I just drive my truck. Right now it's so dry you could ride a bicycle there.

How the hell do you 2wd guys do it?

Pretty easy really. I never go offroad. Don't have a reason to.

How do you get to the camp,

I drive there.

or drive around it?

It has a driveway.

Do you get stuck in wet grass ever?

No. Though I can count on one hand how many times I've driven in wet grass.

Boat ramps?

Two 2wd trucks in 8 years and I've never had an issue at the boat ramp. Both trucks have pulled jet skis, or a (heavy) 23' Sea Ray bow rider, or a 22' center console. Pulled each of 'em like a champ.

Right now, it would be really tricky to get to the back of my family's property without 4WD. About the only time I ever use 4WD is when I go out there, especially during hunting season.

99% of the time you can probably make it around over there (staying on the headlands) in 2WD. However, you definitely have to drive differently, and if you do get in a bind with 2WD, you're going to screw the road and levees up.

The road is destroyed over there right now because of all the rain, and people going out there in 2WDs. So although I could probably live without it, it helps keep our roads in better shape, and it keeps me from having to make a phone call if I get in a bind.

But really, if my family didn't have that property, I really wouldn't have a need for 4WD, that's what the 4 wheeler is for.

My 2 wheel drive Prerunner Tacoma has 305 series tires on it. Not mud tires but they're so Damn wide I don't get stuck anywhere.
Sand,nope

Boat ramps,nope

Grass,nope

I haven't buried it in mud because that's just not the kind of truck it is.

I dont have a 4wd truck because I dont need it. I have a 2wd truck, a tractor, a 4wheeler, a go-devil, a mule (he-haw, not Kawasaki), 2 legs that can out-walk a Billy goat up and down hills, and a strong back. I can't go to Mars, but that's about it.

wont be long before i ditch my 2wd GMC for a 4x4 Titan in the coming months
its gonna be a sell mine, buy his, out of pocket 2500 and paid for kinda deal.

i consider the titan a 'tweener' truck. its gonna be the truck i use while i wait for day to order the new diesel.

Never had a problem with my 2WD f150 at the boat ramp, but back during duck season I was getting stuck at least once a week on the NWR we were hunting on. Rain and shitty parking places did me in. A buddy pulled me out with an extension cord after a good rainy hunt one morning. Had to quadruple it across an a-arm because I don't have tow hooks.

I miss my old fx4..
