You’re hunting legal time and that’s great. Sounds like you’ve done alot of duck hunting. In the morning, I’ll shoot when I’m able to see. In the evening, letter of the law.

2nd to last day, Maury county TN Yanahli WMA. Back in a spot I've seen a couple after letting it rest a day. Would be great to end a season with success. I promise I won't come tomorrow if I get one today.

I’m trying to recall shooting a deer at absolutely first light and I can’t think of one. I’ve definitely shoot some at very last light.

Those turkey chairs Browning makes are super comfortable.

Whacked a small doe in the neck about 7:30. Fell where she stood. My cousin that owns the 1000 acres where I hunt doesn’t go out anymore, and pointed out his freezer was empty. So, we will eat backstrap biscuits tomorrow and I’ll have it processed for him. I get to hunt for sweat equity and the bill for corn and seeds for the food plots, hard to beat that.

Couldn't legally pull the trigger until 6:31.

I pull the trigger when I can see thru the scope but I grew up a pretty big outlaw.

Bow hunting

Saw a 4pt chasing a doe. Rut appears to be on and a little earlier than usual.

Didn’t get on the stand until 9:20. I Forgot my safety harness so I’m in a box blind on a food plot. Have seen 2 small bucks and a doe skirting the plot.
Cell cams show several bucks moving in the last 30 minutes.

Area 4 11 pt!!!
Got down at 9 so I could go sign some paperwork and was easing out just slipping. Decided to ease over where I walked up on a small 8pt chasing a doe yesterday. Figured there was no chance in anything being there but zero chance if I didn’t check.
Almost made it to the same spot as yesterday and saw a deer in the yopalm and it was feeding and not acting skittish so I kept slipping to within about 35-40yd until it stepped in a clearing and I cocked my pistol and sent one.
Ruger 357 Blackhawk Barnes did a number on it bullet exited and the deer ran about 30-40yd and piled up. Kinda of sucked because I had let that lil spike walk numerous times and thought it was a doe but I was pumped. My first pistol kill and will probably keep hunting with it.

Thanks
I am really impressed with the damage the Barnes 140 did here is the exit after breaking ribs on entry and exit and hitting shoulder meat but didn’t appear to hit shoulder bone.
