I'm hearin mixed reports out of Dave's Bayou and poorer reports from Catahoula.

I can tell a lot about how good the hunting is by the number of texts I get lol.

On those good days, if I'm not hunting, I get bombed with lots of pics.

When it gets bad I don't get pics, so I start texting after a day or two asking about the hunting.

Still a win for them though if I'm working and they are hunting.

Guy I know hunts Dave's Bayou and it has been slow but if it is still the same block it's a big place and at least a couple of the spots are bound to have some action. We used to hunt over there in the 90's with some of the corporate blinds and the hunting was good at times. The problem there used to be that it was mostly all pass shooting because they flooded so much water. Held a ton of birds but more often than not it was hard to work birds.

Best action of the year has been a little SW of you, down around Wilmot and Parkdale. Birds are working between the fields and timber, but mostly hitting the fields at night. A lot are also on the big river. With so much water, birds are in spots that they aren't getting hunted. It's like this in January every year.

You have been noticeably absent from here the last 10 days or so. I was certain you had located them.

Wham is full of them but people have given up and the ducks are chillaxing. There are mallards Greys and some sprigs. All in the middle 2-3 miles south of the bridge on 134.

I'm done for the year so have at em.
