Nothing but squirrels and birds this morning. I’ll be back around 3:30 pm. Bringing a bucket of rice bran with me to freshen up this spot.

Sounds like a spine shot. Lol. No worries man, great that he didn't go anywhere. Nice deer. ANY deer with a bow is an accomplishment. I've been a doe-killer for 25 years in south Texas. Usually kill 4 or 5 every year, and they always get my heart pounding. I love bow hunting. Congrats again.

Had a few 3 year old bucks under me early, they will be studs in 2 years.

4 bucks, 6 does had to slip out at 9. Nice start to the season.

This is an understatement. I was literally shaking the tree i was in last weekend. I have never killed with a bow before and had an opportunity last weekend to have my first bowkill be a 12 pt with split brows. I finally calmed down and was waiting for broadside shot but never happened and got too dark. But i got it all on video.

When you stop shaking, its time to go do something else. The shaking is the best part

Remember hearing some buzzing sounds one morning after using my climber. Turned around to notice a hornets nest not 8-10 feet directly behind me. It was a cool morning and I am thankful I caught it when it was first getting light.

Settling in the tent blind before the weather gets here. It’s warm and bugs are out. Hoping a buck shows before the thunderstorms.

Saw a big ole buck and didn't shoot him because I didn't want to drag anything other than a spike out.

Just kidding, he was 65 yards away and looked like a damn cow moving through the woods.

Good luck!
Sitting in a blind in a pecan orchard in texas hill country. Lots of of deer movin around, lol can hear them on all sides of me, bumped a few on my way out to the blind about an hour ago too. So many out here but gonna be patient, I’ve had a camera up since may and I’m waiting and a couple I’ve had my eye on.
First light in about 45 min.

On another note, damn what a great lineup of football games all day.
Best time of year for sure, just wish it was about 25 degrees cooler.

Good luck and be safe everyone.

The skeeters are terrible in Pine Point. When I walk outside I get swarmed immediately.

I can’t imagine being out in the woods right now. We need some cold weather pronto!

So far seen 1 squirrel and some red birds. Only heard 2 shots from squirrel hunters, may be a bad morning to hunt anything. Hope this thermocell doesn’t quit, the bugs are thick out here.

Pretty morning in Mountain Home, Texas. Buddy shot a red deer yesterday and he shot a whitetail he has been running for since last season. I’m being patient.

New spot this morning. Just got settled into a loc-on at the edge of cutover. White oaks all around me but not dropping yet, just needed a change in scenery. Good luck to everyone out this Sunday morning!

Hell no, it’s been hung since late August. About to pack up and head out until next weekend. Only seen 2 fawns since the opening, maybe next weekend will produce.
