I just went down the rabbit hole looking at the canons, canon obviously has mastered image stabilization with optics but only put a 3 year warranty on theirs and seems cheaply made, sig is lifetime warranty

Have to decide if that’s worth the extra $500-$600

They are amazing. My worst fear was that I get them and the difference would only be minor between my old binoculars and these.

They shifted the approach pattern for the large airport I’m roughly 40 miles away from yesterday evening. At 5 o’clock I was watching 737’s like they were right in front of my face

Clouds last night so I didn’t get to look at any planets, star clusters or the moon but hopefully tonight

I have a pair of Zeiss Terra ED 42 that I really like. A bit too much magnification to use in woods, but over water and out west, they are stellar.

I have a pair of Canon Image Stabilized binoculars that are amazing....I don't know if they qualify as high power but I can see grey geese in a field a mile away with them and can see bait pods on a pitching boat at least that far and its like seeing a close up image of both. For spying geese in field they make a helluva difference...back when I field hunted Canadas many times I found fields with birds that I could not see with those binoculars with the image stabilization turned off....they make a huge difference. I can see stars with them better than the cheap telescope we bought our daughter when she was 9.....

Most boaters that need stabilization on the water (in waves) use the Fujinon Techno-Stabi TS-X1440 since they hev 6 degrees of stabilization/compensation (compared to the Sig that have 2 degrees).

I almost went with the Canons fo 300-400 less but the Sig Lifetime warranty and build quality differences swayed me

Canon IS binoculars had great reviews for the most part too, it was a tough decision but I’m happy with the SIg
