Gerald just announced he is moving to BPT as well.

There is a good thread on BBC updating who is switching.

BASS screwed themselves by not spreading some more of their profits to the 50-75 finishers. All the anglers knew that only 20% of the field at any event made any money that week. That left a bunch of people just donating money and going broke. They knew that they were the STARS and the tour was nothing without them. BASS had a chance to listen and headed this off years ago. BPT will get 90% of their first invitees and will have very one else waiting to jump on the chance. I’ll be marshaling/officaling at some of the BPT events next year and can’t wait.

No, but he’s a former ROY and won a tournament this year

Must be talking about Hackney. If so I'm pretty confident he will be joining the BPT, he's been with MLF for a while and won the cup last year.

according to the BassBoatCentral list Hackney already confirmed he is going to the BPT.

I don't think its going to impact BASS over the long term because this will allow alot of younger anglers and new energy to flood back into BASS. I actually think its a good thing to purge some of these older Pros out. The Bassmasters Classic will always be the Superbowl of Bass Tournaments. MLF is nothing more than the USFL with a new name, new format, and limited audience.

Since before BASS really stopped younger guys like Jordan Lee from winning back to back Classics before.
Are you sure about that last part?

Ask the average fisherman what the MLF is and then ask them what the Bassmasters Classic is--95% will recognize the Bassmasters Classic maybe 5% will know what the MLF is. FACT

I don't think you know what a FACT actually is.
It is your opinion that 5% know what the MLF is, and in my opinion a bad one at that.

ETA: I'll let all of this play out. I like BASS and the elite series. I like MLF. Competition is a good thing. No matter what happens, I win.

This is where I'm at. There's a bit of nostalgia with the classic and elite series, but I understand they put themselves in this spot thinking they could bank on the brand to keep them afloat. I can't see them just falling off the map, they'll take a hit, make some changes, and the money will keep it competitive in the long run.
One thing is for sure though, if KVD jumps they are in deep shite short term.

KVD is as good as gone.

I believe it, and that's going to cripple them. I'll be a little disappointed if he quits BASS altogether and retires tied with Clunn for all-time classic wins.

He just needs to win the 2019 Classic then
How awesome would that be? In his last tournament with BASS win the Classic to break the tie.
