Glad to know I'm not the only Bass Cat guy that enjoys embarrassing Skeeters and Rangers

This has been becoming a pattern for a while now with no respect on the water. This past weekend on Toledo Bend. I had my head buried in my electronics while idling over a deep point. Next thing I know my buddy taps me and tells me to watch out. I look up and a BFL guy rolled up and dropped his trolling motor less than 20 yards from where I had been circling. I say to him, "don't mind us" and his reply was "hey man, I am fishing a tournament and we can both fish it." I said, "good luck" and left. There wasn't shite on the point anyway.

It’s a public lake. You don’t own the water. 2 boats fishing on a point isn’t a big deal. This is getting ridiculous.

Come on Jank, the fish are in the damn bushes anyway

The guy that pulled up on the point owes you no explanation of why he’s fishing there. Him thinking he has to explain where he’s fishing to a complete rookie stranger is beyond Busch league.

I remember when fishing was a grown man sport. It’s ashame what these local wanna be’s are doing out here

Bossier did you get your BPT invite yet?

Now that BPT has gutted BASS I wonder what the new payout structure wil be. No way they can keep the new one proposed a few weeks back. I could also see the new BASS owners entertaining offers from the GUTTERS in the next few years. That had to have been the End Game in all this.

I can see this going well or going really bad.
The fact that there is high angler ownership in MLF could be good.... unless those guys start throwing their weight around and catering to themselves too much.

Seems to be the concern Fieder had as well.

IDK... could be fun times ahead.... but I know this... I'd take an Elite series invite right now... I like my chances much better than I did two weeks ago.

Yep, I could see it going either way. The anglers are running the ship now. I'll be curious to see how that plays out with them having more input on the format and venue selection. Some egos are bound to get bruised. It should be fun for us either way.

I still think the one vulnerability they have is that there's currently no real way to bring this format down to the club/open level. They're reliant on FLW and BASS for fresh blood long term. If they find some creative way to address that in the future, like an incentive program to become a boat official and a way to hold them accountable, or an economical way to get certified scales synced to a monitoring system on amateur's boats, sky is the limit.

BPT small payouts won’t be worth it having to face that insane talent ridden competition

How are they going to have 80 referees per event? I hope they aren’t planning on people volunteering like Marshall’s in the elites bc some of those guys can’t operate a cellphone, so forget a scale and iPad

The way they are structuring the tournaments they only actually need 40. And people are going to be jumping at the chance to do it.

I usually fish a little more, and when they get close enough, I start my motor and pin it right there and screw up the water. I hate the statement "Its a public lake, you dont own the spot". If I can cast in your boat, get the F away.

If there is another boat in an area I want to fish, I always approach them before I ever make a cast and ask if they mind if I share the area. I usually will ask what their plan is, and then I try to stay out of their way.

In a situation like that, I usually would have no problem sharing. A little courtesy goes a long way.

I’m good with that approach. But you are one of the few. I’ve seen quite a few tournament fisherman believe there day is more important than everyone else on the water. No slowing down in narrow waterways, fishing same exact spot ext. I appreciate your take on things.

If Johnny Morris pours money into a tournament will he require the anglers to use his brand of boats meaning Nitro and Ranger boats?

Only for the MLF events, same as it is now. BPT will allow anglers to use their own boats and sponsors.
