I'm in north Texas (Zone 8b) and I've had a fungus growing in my yard for the last few years. It was in a relatively small area but has blown up since and is now spread all over the yard. It grows quickly, covers the tip of the Bermuda stalk and covers feet, paws, and shoes with black spores. If I cut on Sunday, it's back by Friday. I'm worried about the kids getting into it and the dog carrying it into the house. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Fungusisamongus is the name, azoxystrobin with a ‘lil baking soda mixed in controls lots of different fungi. Looks like you need to mow your grass, maybe keep it a ‘lil lower too…

Mowed it right after! Try to keep it around 1.5" in the summer. This crap though, it'll be back by Thursday.

Also, what does the baking soda do for the azoxystrobin?

Use a granular fungicide that both prevents and controls fungus.

Changes the ph(alkaline) to make less ideal growing conditions for the fungus. Only 1tsb per gallon of water, carefully measured.

Slime mold LINK. Usually does not require treatment.

You’d get more responses by posting this on the “Home & Garden” board.

Look into Daconil fungicide get it from a Landscape supply chain if possible "Lesco" & certainly do not fertilize unless you want to worsen your problem.

Too wet. I'm guessing there is nothing you can do about that. Up here, we just have to shut off the sprinklers.
