I went to a gun show last year and prices were double MSRP. Last gun show I'll go to It will be hard to beat some of the deals on PSA right now
I’ve never been, but this is what my gut is telling me.

worth going to the Gonzales gun show looking for a starter AR, or better to just order something like PSA
With all the sales right now, you will be able to find countless budget ARs for dirt cheap.
Why put up with the Gun Show BS at all?

Never been to a gun show, so no idea what to expect

Beef jerky, knives, belt buckles, crappy reloaded ammo, cheap ar junk, and maybe some overpriced guns.

I think you've described it perfectly.

Just went to the one in LC. Kids wanted to go and they all get in free.
Most tables were way over priced. Like a taurus 3GC for $400.
There was one table that had very reasonable prices and a huge collection and a nice stacked riser setup. People were buying from them like crazy. I k ow I saw 5 clipboards out at once.
It was crazy to me the other tables had to see them moving product.
We didn't buy anything of course. When we left u went to the local shop by my house and picked up a 43 to maybe replace my Kahr CM9.
FYI stealth arms makes magazines for the 43 that ups capacity to 9+1 and the 43x to 15 capacity. 15 is a nice round count for that 43x.
At the local shop cash is king

Where is best site to buy complete uppers? Head is spinning with all the options out there. Building my first. Lower is ready to go. Specifically looking for Aero Precision M4e1 Wylde 1:8 twist with fluted barrel. Figured Labor Day sales so now would be the time to get on it. New to this thread & not smart enough to navigate through 875 pages to find answer. Thanks!

I have an Aero Precision stainless Wylde that I got in an assembly from Primary Arms. I wasn't that impressed with it and ended up swapping it out for a Rainier Arms match barrel. Maybe that was just a one-off, because they have a good reputation, but I have chrome and nitride barrels that were more accurate.
ETA: I didn't answer your question. Primary Arms and Palmetto State are safe bets for upper assemblies.

Not a bad deal on PSA AR-15 (BLEM) $479.99 that comes with a full-auto bolt carrier (The rifle is not FA, of course).

That's a good deal. You could also get the complete lower for $149 (includes their nickel polished trigger which makes a difference): LINK and pair that with the mid-length upper: LINK
$20 extra gets you a Magpul MOE stock, better trigger and (arguably better) gas system.

Where is the best outdoor range to shoot an AR-15 in Southern Louisiana/Mississippi.
I've shot pistols and shotguns all my life. Just ventured into the AR world basically with the same set-up you recommended above. I know I can shoot it indoors at Bayou Dragon. And I've been to honey island a few times. Any other rifle range recommendations?

I’m not saying it’s the best but Southern Gun and shooting center in Thibodaux is nice

Foxtrot Mike can't get my AR45 to run correctly either. They have offered me one of their side handle charging AR's as a replacement. Now I have to decide which one I want, 11.5, 12.5, 13.9 or 16 inch in .223 Wylde.
I'm learning toward the 13.9 and having a WarComp pinned and welded.

"Next week, on hoarders..."
I have ZERO problem with it but that's got to be something that shows up in a psychology textbook. As an investment he probably could have done a lot worse, though.

I think we can all say, this was impressive. And a shame on the final decision the guy made, but I think he's going to be ok.
Jeez, I need more guns

But a folding braced 11.5 would be a great truck gun.
