Mine is a 7.62x39 bolt in a grendel. As of yet, I’ve not had any issues with it. Bunch of rounds out down it.

ETA: Well, now I’m questioning myself. It maybe a grendel bolt.

Finally got my hands on my black friday $349 poverty pony Not gonna lie, not that bad. Tossed on some flip up irons and she's good to go for what I bought her for. Any of y'all got a recommendation on a good, inexpensive flashlight? Perfectly fine with something I have to manually switch on/off via the flashlight body vs a pressure mount pad.

Sent a barreled upper off to get pinned and welded on December 1st, USPS just delivered it yesterday. Adco finished the job and has it headed back. to government run entities.

My poverty pony came via fedex, with signature required. My ffl got the flu and left early the day it arrived, and fedex couldn't provide any delivery info other than they left it somewhere fedex still can't provide the who signed for information, almost 2 weeks later. They're all fricking terrible, in their own ways.

Any experience or thoughts on this to put on top of my first AR-15 (on the way)? For some reason it caught my eye, but I have zero experience outside of hunting scopes. Open to any suggestions outside of this as well. Gun is a PSA PA-15.

I’d look at Holosun and Vortex as well. Vortex has a really good 3x micro magnifier as well.

In general though, I’m not a fan of red dots. I like the EOTECH hologram donut of death much more. Better with my astigmatism

My experience shooting an AR is as low as my experience with red dots. The AR fun I've had was with a thermal at night. I tried a red dot when testing a pistol at an indoor range once, and I didn't really like it, either I was off or it was off.

I would think for an AR, a bigger "screen"/field of vision would be best, but I don't know. Not sure how I can test various things. Not sure a typical duplex non-illuminated scope makes sense, but maybe I need one of those and later get a thermal too. Finding sight quickly and being able to move with it seems to be important, but I have not done any reading and this is my first time asking others.

I’m not a fan of the magnified prism optics. I like have a true 1x option on my optic especially if it’s used for home defense. My current bedside AR has a Romeo 4S with Micro Vortex magnifier. Really like this setup.

I can see the logic of a 1 or 2x minimum.

Zeroed my EOTECH EXPS3-0 on Friday. Used the T Rex Arms sheet and method at 25 yards.

Walked it off, got into prone position resting the magazine on the ground and steady fired 3 rounds. Adjusted about 30 dots up and 15 dots left (strange that it doesn’t “click”) and I put a group in the bullseye that had all three rounds touching and fading down and right for my trigger pull and recoil.

I was shooting better groups than the dude in the video!

Anyway, very happy with it. Put another group within a fist sized ball at 100 and was done after 9 rounds.

The parallax or whatever is amazing. You can literally hit where the dot is lined up like a video game. Both eyes open and not even shouldered all the way. No wonder the operators all use EOTECH.

Buy once, cry once paid off for me.

My AR-15 came in, I'm excited. So I need ammo...it's 5.56 NATO mil spec chambered. With .223 rem being cheaper, any harm in getting used to it with a bunch of that? I read online that it's fine, but there might be some accuracy issues with the .223 out of that. I figure it's fine to work on getting a feel for it and such. Academy has boxes of both, I haven't shopped yet since I just got it.

Also shopping optics for real now, didn't want to buy anything just in case I never ended up with the gun. I think I also want a front post/handle.

You can shoot 223 all day long with no issue if you have a 556 NATO barrel.

Looks great.

.330blk or 5.56?

My rifle that I predator hunt with is ridiculously heavy when I have the silencer on it. Its a Sandman. I need to look at finding a lighter silencer for it.

5.56. i was trying to lean into the MK18 vibes i was feeling. no where near "clone correct", but it's close enough.

Looks sharp!

I just purchased my .30 cal can yesterday, hopefully don’t have to wait 5 months but who knows…

That said I need to either build or buy a 300 blackout pistol. Looking for some guidance as I’m not super familiar with this setup. Want it to shoot subsonic rounds suppressed. Thinking of just buying one built but if anyone has some experience piecing one together I’d love to hear it. Not going super high end, but don’t want bottom of the barrel either.
