That's not a bad tent for the money. Pretty much the same design as my mountain hardwear and many others.
REI is good about taking ideas from other companies and adding a twist so the can call it their own.
Eta...are you a member?

I like the way their site is layed out. You can search by weight so it's easy to compare weight:price ratio.

12-14 years ago the old REI store was the place to shop. Before online enterprises took over. It was one of the first places I would go when I flew to Seattle.

I like their site as well.
If you buy that tent or anything else fairly expensive pay the 20$ membership. You'd get 9.99 back towards next years dividend so it will pay for half of your membership right off the bat and you'll get free shipping on anything over 75$ plus twice a year you get a 20% off coupon not to mention the several other times throughout the year they give a 10% off coupon and it's good towards anything they sell. I bought my Marmot bag last year using my 20% off. Originally 350 but I saved 70 bucks.
Do good research though. REI can have higher prices on some things and lower on others. Not always worth the dividend money you'd get back. REI outlet always has good deals too. Their customer service is great as well.
eta...I use campmor and backcountry a lot when checking other prices.

I just spent my REI dividend check ($58) last week in prep for my Gila Wilderness Hunt in a few weeks.
New headlamp and some dry packaged meals.

Cool....have a blast.
I've got 126$ and my 20% coupon burning a hole in my pocket. Not sure what to get. I want some new convertible pants but I also want some new boots. I want I want I want....it never ends

I have the Omnium and love them. Only wish they had less mesh.

Thinking about getting this Black Diamond Axis 33 pack or these Asolo boots.
I'm bored so I've been doing a lot research.

What is a good pack size for a 2-3 night trip?
Looks like the 55-65L packs are popular sizes. Do you want a pack that fits everything snug, or is a little extra room a problem if you are packing light.

Snug is preferable because you don't want items to move around while you hike as it will be uncomfortable and it's nice to have a specific place for everything. However, having a little extra room at the top is usually okay. Pack the heaviest items at the bottom of the pack and lightest at the top. Not having enough room is the main problem. Without enough space you begin to hang things on the outside of your pack and this is a no-no. Also, make sure the load you intend to carry is within the weight limit specifications. If a bag is rated to hold 50 pounds I wouldn't even put 45 in it. Though it may not break the bag, it will be very uncomfortable. I've made the mistake before in weighing down a GoLite pack and an REI pack with more weight than I should have an had large, red marks/burns and blisters appear after wearing the same bag everyday for a month.

I like it too. Just wish I could see it in person. Looked at several climbing packs and this one seems to have more options all in one.

I have a 60 and I use it for 2 days and up. Good thing about the Ospreys is there are several ways to cinch your load down if you have plenty of room left over. Some people have different size packs for different trips but that's not always feasible or some people just don't do it enough to warrant spending good money on another pack.
I have a 45 liter pack as well but after getting my Osprey I always want to use it
