Range Officer = IMBEL Forged Frame
Ruger = Investment Cast Frame
Get one with the NM in the serial number. NM models are hand fitted in Geneseo, IL, USA. The non-NM models are still great quality, but fitted in South America.

The fit of the RO is the same fit in barrel, bushing, and slide to frame as the TRP

Got mine for $680, including shipping and FFL from Whittaker Guns in Kentucky. Who also, as of today, began shipping bulk ammo!

Ive got the Springfield Range Officer and I couldnt be happier with it. Ive got about 400-500 rounds through it already and haven't had any problems at all.

Not 100% true. The N or NM by the serial number means nothing in terms of how it was fitted or where the parts come from. My Mil-Spec is 100% USA (and starts with NM) while some can be partially IMBEL or all IMBEL. Only way to know is to strip it and look for the markings. It really doesn't matter since IMBEL knows how to build a damned good 1911 with proper forged steel and a lifetime no-BS warranty too.

Not a Ruger or a Kimber but love my Sig 1911 Fastback nightmare. Great trigger out of the box. I love the bob feel and the S&W was $350 more and the DW is $800. Got this one for $875 to the door.

I think my next one will be a Sig nightmare. I think I'm going to get that for my birthday. It will be a nice reward for me for finishing up radiation and chemo. I love the look of it and the bobbed grip.

More companies need to make the bobbed grips.
