It's almost as if they somehow know when it's hunting season.

Just hope they filter by you. Good luck.

I think it’s better you pushed em out with a vehicle rather than you walking through then on foot. You’ll be fine.

Stay put and wait, Bucks will be back roaming.

Personally, i don't think vehicles of any type bother farm deer at all. They see them every day all year round.

It's just deer, they will go right back to doing deer things in 2 minutes.
Damn, y'all overthink this shite.

People act like deer actually think about shite. They don't. They just survive on instinct.
We have about 70 box stands on our lease. If a monster gets wounded and you put a dog behind him, you can track that deer for a mile or more and he will avoid going near a box stand. It's not that he's thinking about it. It's because it's a habit to run those trails. It keeps him alive.

You should have seen the panic threads over the lack of rain on their food plots. It was insane.

You deer hunters sure do overthink literally everything.
They’re deer, 5 min later they won’t give a rats arse about what just happened.

I've shot one that rolled up 2 minutes after I peed out the tree.
I shot one of a group that was only 60 yards away, they all looked up, but then just kept on grazing while their last friend died.
Other times a damn doe will blow and run before I ever see them. Who knows. Sometimes I find distractions or other hunters are what get them up and moving.

I swear I think killing deer is how they measure their life's worth.

Folks give deer waaaaaaaayyyyy to much credit for being wily. The damned things will stand by and watch as you get out of the truck, level a rifle at them and kill them graveyard dead. Folks have been killing them in truck loads from the highway for years. They are not overly bright, in fact they are just the opposite and it is often mistaken for being wily. Even big bucks lose all survival instinct for a few weeks every year. They mostly survive do to dumb luck.

Rut is on here in Missouri and I'm sure in Illinois too. Get in that stand and stay. I've killed some of my best bucks 10-2.. Good luck

Whitetail deer are the most cautious big game animal in North America, with the exception of coyotes and wolves.

I know that is a commonly held opinion but it is hard to imagine how it is measured given that about 6 million are shot every year and 2 million are killed by automobiles. Thats nearly 7% of the entire population not being cautious where the presence of humans is abundantly noticeable even to possums. They may well be the most cautious but that don't mean much when 7% of the population wonders out into the road and gets killed every year. It says more about the lack of caution on the part of other big game animals in North America than it does about the caution of deer. Its relative apparently, 7% of the damned things wonder into the road and another 20% wonder into shot range of hunters annually. This ain't even getting into the number who stand idly by the highway and in yards all over the country while people are abundantly present.

I got within 15 feet of one on my run today. They know where they are.

No. I have had spooked deer come right back out in 10 minutes. Get into your stand and just settle

I would rather be beat with a rubber hose than sit still in a deer stand all day to kill an animal, that quite frankly, doesn't taste that damn good.
