I've read enough on this board to never ever want to get into duck hunting. Or even hire a guide.

I just avoid public land for this reason

It's in other forms of hunting too, especially deer hunting especially TROPHY deer hunting. and it's on private land, I've seen guys in the same club sabotage other club member's stands(almost getting people killed... and otherwise "Normal" people doing this" actually on WMA's and NWR's i've seen much less of this.. granted my waterfowl hunts on public land are only 15% of my hunts and usually simply precursors to woodcock hunts.

This may be one of the craziest stories I have ever read. None of it makes sense

Surely some questions can be answered now that David Vowell’s body has been found. Did he have a shotgun wound? Any sign of being hit in the head with the butt of a shotgun?

Not sure if this was mentioned yet but There's a podcast "back to the lodge" with guys who have hunted that blind and know all the guys involved.

There summation is that the message board fonder of an argument and resulting gun fight didn't happen. They won't go into details of what exactly happened, but they strongly insinuate that Vowell had shown the signs of dementia and he just rolled up on them and blasted.

From another news outlet, they also reported similarly that the first 2 were shot as soon as they opened the door to Vowell.

Since Vowell can no longer state his motive, the 1 surviving witness story is all we have.
