A miracle happened.

There was a pretty long thread on here about 4 years ago but it seems to have been locked for some reason. Lot of back and forth about the merits of this story.

Here is a little follow up.

Yellowstone wolves may not have transformed the park after all.

Researchers found that the reported 1,500% surge in willow growth was based on circular calculations and questionable comparisons. After correcting for modeling and sampling flaws, the supposed ecosystem-wide boom largely disappears.

Who would have guessed it was all propaganda.

That is what happens when politics drive science instead of the other way around

I know for a fact that "scientists" will manipulate and lie about their findings if they believe it will be for the greater good.

lol, wait so some scientist tried to say that mule deer and elk were the cause of fewer beavers? That is absurd

The only thing absurd about it is how exaggerated it was.

There's nothing absurd about suggesting that one species could have an adverse impact on another if there population is unchecked. Plenty of real examples of that that don't require bogus science to see.

The unfortunate thing about that study is that their attempt to put greater emphasis and give all the credit to the wolf overshadows what is likely true to some degree--reintroduction of the wolves did create some kind of balancing effect.

This is just propaganda disguised as science with the sole intent being to suggest that nature can function without human intervention. Maybe in a system like Yellowstone that's true, but it won't work hardly anywhere else.

How about just do a big lottery every year if an over population of deer/elk was the issue? I’d love to hunt Yellowstone lol

I'd read this same story 4-5 years back along with a rebuttal.
