Deer were “restocked” in Louisiana a long time ago with deer from Wisconsin and I believe Texas. So the genetics aren’t bad down here. There’s still really nice deer taken every year in Louisiana, a lot of which nobody ever hears about or sees.

I assure you it's not the WHOLE way.

A rather substantial portion of the river can sustain thriving white tail populations. There, that should do.

I wouldnt exactly call where the ville is in the delta and I look at the river 40 hours a week there.

Science has proven that genetics have nothing to do with it.

That's the right guy, but he killed it poaching and had to make up a legit story as to where he killed it.

I think your wrong ol boy.
If that was the case deer pens would not pay thousands upon thousands for a straw of a particular bucks jizz. All they would have to do is ensure feed and age and could grow monsters!!

Sonny Suggs killed a monster in the 80’s near St. Franny.

Have you ever heard of a young man with choices who took some wrong ones and regrets them.
I dated a girl while in college who's brother owned a plantation in St Francesville, I remember it was near the Bluffs Golf Course somewhere. He was a loaded real estate guy from Baton Rouge who had little hunting knowledge or want to, I would have had free reign of the entire place as far as hunting.
She was a good Christian girl, OT 6.25 OB 8.25 but I graduated and left telling her see ya I'm going to make it.

Eh I see this a lot on here. It’s not like Louisiana boys are the most tight lipped in the country. There’s nice deer killed in all states that aren’t bragged about, but it’s likely pretty much the same as far as what you see bragged about and what arent.
A lot of states have the potential for routinely having Booner class bucks on the right properties. It takes a pretty basic combination of good genetics, good food, and the ability to grow old.

We have a lot of farmers. They see the big bucks starting early season. Those baws shoot some big ones that never make Instagram, I can promise you that.
Stop by a rural meat processor in north Louisiana sometime and go check out how many theyre processing... one small joint in Liddieville, La called Hatton’s cuts about 2,000 just there every winter. I walked to the back where they keep the heads people want to do skull mounts with or whatever... there were some studs in that cooler..

That was more towards the point about him saying he was surprised to see a big deer come out of LA and herd genetics.
And yes I know, it's all nutrition not genetics.

I've hunted st Francisville my whole life. Sage hill, clover hill, up 61, down 61. Some absolute hammers come from that area, but it's not what it used to be. Lots of pine plantations and people buying small plots of land and hunting in their backyard. We still kill some nice bucks, but not like the late 90s
