Will be suppressing my H&R handi rifle and already have my suppressor. One of the best things about this rifle is how short and maneuverable it is in the woods. Adding the suppressor won't be a deal breaker with the extra length, but was wondering if anyone has cut one down. I'm on the fence of just threading the barrel or cutting it down to 18" and then threading. Any thoughts? It's currently at 22".

What caliber is it?
What is the current barrel length?
What silencer do you have for it?

If the supressor can take it, definitely Cut it to 16"

Just an honest question, but why are you wanting to?

Quick and easy answer is maneuverability in the woods. I like the compactness of it without the suppressor, so looking to keep the short profile even with the suppressor.

Just make sure the can will meet the demands of the cartridge at whatever barrel length you go with. Most are fairly shorter than I would consider going anyway.

I've got a Marlin 1895 in 45-70 suppressed .... it's super quiet, super handy and it hits hard.

Not sure I would shorten the barrels of either of my H&Rs or Rossi single shots to do it.

H&R was bought out by PSA if I am not mistaken, in the Remington BK. I'm not sure PSA will ever make break open single shots, pretty sure they wanted the H&R holdings more for the Garand etc stuff .... which would make your H&R more of a collector's item.

In thick stuff 4" makes an enormous difference. I'd cut it to 16".
