Killed my biggest deer on a plot in the middle of the day. Most of the does I’ve shot on plots have been mid morning. But I would rather sit in a tree in some hard woods.

Are we thinking this next cold front is going to kick them off? I should be leaving for a week the day after Christmas

I hope so. Next weeks temps are considerably lower. I’ll be in the woods for sure

Had a few pictures of a doe and then a buck a minute later. But then also some bucks still together. Tarsals are not dark on pictures.

But target buck daylights today at 7am. Hunted that spot yesterday morning……

I have several bucks that I've been watching on camera that just started showing up during daylight hours in the last week. I also saw my first picture of a buck trailing a doe this weekend.

Hermanville (Claiborne Country) has been slow this year for us. We normally like 35-40 deer a year and we are only to 18 right now. We’ve killed some nice bucks, but not seeing the deer we normally do. Last year was incredible. Best year we ever had, and this year is on pace for the worst. Crazy for sure.

I personally think it has to do with the massive acorn crop this year. We aren’t seeing a tenth of the deer we normally do in our food plots.

If last year was the best (meaning yall killed a shite ton of deer I assume) then yeah, this year will be slow cause of what was killed last year.

I’ll predict yall will have a good year next year due to lack of kills this year.

Thats what I keep telling myself for next year anyway.

Congrats on his first deer. I saw your post said you were in Amite county and I was wondering where.

Super slow here so far for us. Zero big bucks killed and only half of our doe quota to date.

Lots of active scrapes at my place 10 miles east of Woodville but no signs of chasing. I had 5 does in front of me at different times and they were alone and didn't see skittish or worried about anything
