What site are you in? I am in C23.
The wife told me there are several COE campgrounds at Truman Lake. We're at the Bucksaw campground. Which one are you in?

Man, some of the hardest working guides I've had were on trips where the fish weren't biting. Can't really blame the guide for that. I mean if you get to the dock and every boat limited out and you didn't catch anything, then maybe I'd second guess someone. But if they are working to get you a good experience, they are doing their job and deserve a tip whether you catch or not. So, percentage changes are only happening based on the interaction with the guide, not necessarily the number of fish caught.

I bet you would be a great guy on the boat. Some of my best tips have been on difficult days and with kids, worst is usually when limits are caught.

I just got back from Pass Christian and we had a blast. Caught a lot of 20”+ trout and went out Saturday afternoon and caught 4 bull red drum. The captain busted his arse to get us on the fish. We tipped him $250 on a $800 charter.

Let me know how this goes. Live in KC area and would love to go catch a mess of crappie. I've heard that tear them up at Lake Truman and Clinton is only about an hour from my house.
We just got settled down from our four hour fishing trip. Storms woke us up around 4:15 this morning, but they moved right on out. We met the guide (Richard Bowling) at his boat around 6:20 AM. At the first location he showed me how to fish and catch crappie by catching a few. I then caught 10 after missing a few. The second stop we did not even put a hook in the water. He did not see any with catching on his monitor. At the next stop I caught my final five. It was my wife's turn then. He showed her the steps and after a few misses she caught her 15. Every time a fish got on she would say "oh gosh" while Richard netting the fish. At that point we may have been on the lake 2 1/2 hours. Richard then started to catch his limit. He was a lot faster than either one of use. He tried to find some big one's, but he could not. But he caught his limit also. Back at the dock he filleted them and put them in two gallon zip lock bags. When we got back to the RV my wife put 10 fillets each in quart bags. We ended up with 89 filets.
It was neat how he would tell you to put the shiner right in front of the crappie and away we went. He could read the screen a lot better than we could. We fished one at a time with Richard in one chair and one of use in the other chair. The person not fishing could see the fish on another monitor in the back of the boat.

This shite can't get banned fast enough. It's like moose hunting with a military reconnaissance drone relaying his position to you in real time.

I can see this getting banned in tournaments, but not recreational fishing.

I forgot to mention that Richard if fully booked for the rest of the year except for a few days in August/September. He does two excursions a day seven days a week.

Just wondering, why didn’t he let you and your wife catch his limit? I wouldn’t want to be paying to watch the guide catch fish unless it’s illegal or something for a person to catch more than their limit? I’ve always assumed the limit was for the total number of people on the boat not necessarily each angler.

Lets not stop there; sonar, GPS, mapping, trolling motors and outboards over 200hp should be banned.

Limits are per person that is why.

I would say mainly because he was a lot faster and time was running out. By the time we got back and he got the fish cleaned the second outing was waiting on him. But the people on the second outing go out with him several times of the year, so they did not mind waiting.
