Florida Rigging

what is this you speak of
Having to get a new soft plastic after every single hook set, hang up, or even moderately tensioned line event.
I've switched to 100% sinker stoppers now. Sucks 'cause I have about 100 Florida rigged weights.

Apparently it's not Florida rig then. You get these small oval weights with a slit down the side. # 12 I think, it's about the size of a BB and clamp it about a foot or so above the hook. If it's windy I put 2. Doesn't snag anymore than Texas rig.

That's called a split shot rig, unless I'm missing something. Similar to Carolina but the weight isn't allowed to slip.

Yep that's it, a split shot rig. Or as I call it, a mini Carolina rig

My buddy called it a Florida rig so I did too. He's not real smart. It allows the bait to float up a foot off the bottom when you work it. It killed the fish last year but it need grass to be most effective. A few years ago we were fishing a tournament in the snow at Toledo and my buddy won the tournament fishing that rig with a " Mini Y not" bait around main lake points.
Rballa got me thinking about that H&H spinner bait. All I thought about all day at work.

Tough fighting the wind today, but uncle and I managed to put some in the boat.

Nice fish bro!
Leaving tomorrow after work.
Another bluebird weekend. I hope this dude wants to fish some deep water.
Next weekend they calling for rain both days. I'd fish that in a heartbeat.

Leaving in a few hours. With the bluebird days we should night fish. They have to be feeding at night with all the boat traffic

Been seeing lots of shallow perch reports. I'd go, but I've been burned too many times.

Best day time shallow white perch trip was at 1215. Caught slabs on road runners. Never hit it like that again.

My dad isn't real capable of taking good pics but he said these were really nice fish.

Don't be discouraged, yesterday and today were the worst days to fish this month. High pressure and moon phase just sucked.

I saw 4 males on beds today on the golf course. I am thinking of going yank them tomorrow.
Posted on 3/5/16 at 7:00 pm to Janky
we used to catch some heads at the old Briarwood track at night years ago...

But with an o-ring instead of puncturing the worm.
Posted on 3/5/16 at 7:25 pm to farad
I grab a little bit of the bait with the hook when Im passing through the O-ring, just for a little extra meat.
