We killed them Last year Florida Rigging a Swimming Fluke.
We caught 195 bass while on vacation, 150+ were caught on that rig.
No grass this year basically kills that set up.
Nothing better than a fluke or senko bite in the grass. I get excited just thinking about it.

My favorite way to catch bass followed by spinnerbait and Carolina rig.

ETA: Last year was my first year on Toledo. 4 trips, caught every single fish on Senko, 90% wacky rigged.

I don't know that I have a favorite. It's whichever one is working I guess. OTOH, if I can make them bite a slow rolled spinnerbait, that's what I'll pick.

There's been four more 10+ pounders caught the last two days
they're going to shatter last year's record. Sitting at 75 right now, last year was the most from May to May with 81!

Plan on upping that number this weekend

It's such an easy meal for them that they can't resist. It really is one of my new favorite ways to fish after finally getting a good spin rig.

Saltwater guy here so can you tell me what this is exactly?
I will be fishing from a pier this weekend and they have (in the past) lots of grass along the bank. Any tips would be appreciated.

You tie on an extra wide gap worm hook somewhere in the size range of 3/0 to 5/0, and leave it weightless. Then thread a fluke or senko on and throw it out into the grass and let it sink. Twitch it a couple times then let it sink again. Wash, rinse, repeat until you get it in.

If the water is clear also get watermelon red Zoom speed craw and a 2/0 hook and 1/8 oz. Weight and Texas rig it. Move it slow

Fishing San Miguel. Staying shallow to keep out the wind. Just boated one on a chartreuse Humdinger.

Humdingers are my favorite spinnerbaits!

I will tie one on this weekend. Killed them in Housen one year with it

Biggest 5 fish stringer I've ever caught came on a 1/4 oz Humdinger. A little over 25 pounds

Used to fish em all the time when I was younger, now I hate throwing a spinner bait

what is this you speak of. Is it just pegging a weight about 8-10" above the hook?
Posted on 3/3/16 at 11:14 am to bayouvette
Unless I'm mistaken, it's just using a bullet weight with a screw on the bottom that screws down into the soft plastic.

quote:No. The weight has a screw that you use to hold it tight to the plastic.
