Ended up adding to the camping gear this weekend. I started a thread last week asking about tents and got several good recommendations. I ended up not getting a true backpacking tent, since it seems like most of the hiking/camping trips are going to be shorter distance hikes. I talked to the troop leader, and he said most guys have a 2 or 3 man dome style tent. We rode out to Bass Pro and looked around, and I got one that packs small, but not tiny, and is about 5 lbs. I let my oldest try it and another one, and we opted for the 3 man rather than the 2 man. It will fit in his backpack with his sleeping bag, and I can get other things in mine. Also picked up a new mummy style sleeping bag for me that packs small. And to top it all off, got a huge wheeled Coleman cooler at Walmart.

Last night I made an order to Midway (free shipping on the items I bought).
CCI benchrest small rifle primers
22 cal 2nds 50 (prob V-Max) and 55 gr (prob Nosler Ballistic Tip)
20 cal 32 gr Sierra bullets
17 cal 20 gr 2nds
Heads up: Primer prices on MW and other sites have dropped considerably in the past few weeks. I load the BR primer in my 17 Remington Fireball and 20 VarTarg, but they'd got so expensive ($160/1000) that I'd decided just go w/ CCI non-BR. Now that they're $95, I'll resume using them so I don't have work up the loads again.

I bought an Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor (they were out of .308) and I'm picking up a Leupold VX-3HD 3.5-10x40 CDS scope as well. When I get back from my vacation, I'm going to pick up a simple climbing stand, binocs, and anything else I'll need to go hunt. I'm excited to hunt this year, never have, have outdoors skills and took multiple classes on it. Probably won't shoot anything, but if I do huzzah.
Ironically I have multiple years of rock climbing experience so I should have pretty good safety.

Been working a lot of OT lately and splurged on a 20".308 Seekins PH3 in Mountain Shadow. Now on to deciding on a scope.

Purchased Oklahoma bow hunting tag - heading to Oklahoma lease Thursday morning and through the weekend.
My Bog tripod stripped out, so purchased a new tripod that will be here tomorrow.
Two cords off of Amazon to plug into 12V battery and tie in to Reveal cameras.

We;re in the midst of a crab pot theft epidemic. They dont want the pots, just your crabs inside.

We spot lock right near our pots and wait because we have people that’ll do the same thing. It’s sad.

Ordered a holster for my thumb trigger release that i can clip onto my bino harness or belt. Will be nice to not have to worry about digging in my pocket or backpack for it.

Added more flashlights, because one can never have enough. Also my youngest ran off with my good Klarus light. Found it in the backseat of the car last weekend when I was vacuuming it out. So I ordered a little 2-pack of cheaper lights from Amazon for them to have to play with. Also grabbed a Browning cap light to stick on my hat bill when we're camping. The boys usually have the headstrap ones, but the elastic band always ends up getting stretched out or tangled up.

I got a DeWalt shop vac for 40% off on the Lowe's daily deal earlier in the week. I'm pumped, which is silly but oh well. I'm old.
