We have 3 branches of government, separate, but equal. The constitution did not give any of the branches the power to limit either of the other 2 branches time in office. Congress overstepped it's constitutional authority when they did this.

Maybe some wee district judge will rule term limits for Congress, with all of that newfound power they think they have.

Do you mean have I never heard of it, or have I heard of it? What is your first language?

Is the 22nd constitutional and has it been tested by The Supremes is what I am pondering. If congress can just pass an amendment limiting the others, then the others have the same right to limit congress, if truly separate but equal.

A few days before leaving office in January 1989, President Ronald Reagan said he would push for a repeal of the 22nd Amendment because he thought it infringed on people's democratic rights

In a November 2000 interview with Rolling Stone, President Bill Clinton suggested that the 22nd Amendment should be altered to limit presidents to two consecutive terms but then allow for non-consecutive terms, because of longer life expectancies.

OBAMA: I said this before. People would ask me, "Knowing what you know now, do you wish you had a third term?" And I used to say, "You know what? If I could make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a front man or front woman, and they had an earpiece in and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff, and then I could sort of deliver the lines, but somebody else was doing all the talking and ceremony, I'd be fine with that.

Obama also at least one other time previously said he believed he could win again if the U.S. Constitution, which limits presidents to two terms, allowed him to run for a third term.

Trump v Obama 2028.

The first efforts in Congress to repeal the 22nd Amendment were undertaken in 1956, five years after the amendment's ratification. Over the next 50 years, 54 joint resolutions seeking to repeal the two-term presidential election limit were introduced.

This. You want a third/fourth Trump term? Get Vance elected in 2028, he'll still be in his early fifties by the end of his tenure.

Unless something changes I dont even see Vance as the nominee. He has zero charismatic authority outside of the conservative base. I am a lifelong R, MAGA, and very conservative and Vance doesnt move the needle for me yet. Trump definitely does but I dont know who fills his shoes when he is gone.

Its a tactic. He's bottlenecking the new media with dumb stuff.

Trump doesnt think hes in for a third term. But if he says it, media and democrats will spend all their time talking about it and less time on other things.

No.

He'd be 82 after this team. Time for him to go home. All Federal public office holders, Executive, Legislative and Judicial (Supreme Court) should have their tenure in D.C. immediately ended upon reaching the age of 80.

"Happy Birthday! Now get the hell out."

Adding that Men can play against women in women's rugby does not make it constitutional. Congress adding that the Supremes are limited to 15-minute terms is not constitutional.

I know that sounds Redonkulous, but after some of the shite pushed in the last 4 years...

None of those things you are talking about are constitutional ammendments. The 22nd constitutional ammendment is in fact the 22nd constitutional ammendment. How fricking retarded are you?
