Sounds like someone who was likely fast tracked up the ranks because she's a woman. Especially when you consider her proximity to the Biden admin.

This story is everything that is wrong with DEI.
She could have been an incredible soldier but everyone will always wonder if she was a product of DEI.
DEI is discriminatory to those who actually earn it. If everything was based on merit no one would have to wonder if she was qualified.

Im clueless on this sort of thing, rank wise. Is it pretty normal for a non-military academy non combat vet soldier to make captain at 28?

If the DEI administration can make the captain of a navy ship dictated by gender, why not any other positon?
