Birmingham is the next Nashville or Charlotte. The only real city in Alabama. Montgomery ain't even a town.

Do the people of Birmingham want to be the capital?

A bunch of Yankees will move there? How delightful.

The big question is why are The Gumps spending $200 million of Chinese Virus relief funds on a new state capitol? Shouldn't this go to, you know, virus relief?

That would put it in Cullman. And for the record, I don't want that cesspool anywhere near Huntsville. We're doing just fine thanks.

Hell no. I said new, planned city. Raze Cleveland. Put it at the intersection of 79/231. Improve them for traffic, and add a spur to I65. The entire city will never be allowed to have more than 25k people across all industries. Build the capitol itself on a bluff overlooking the Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River.

This will be a new model of completely efficient and limited government.

LA's capitol was never in Pineville, but has been in Opelousas, Donaldsonville, New Orleans, Shrevport, and Baton Rouge.

LSU was in Pineville, though.

I recall going to some cheap bar by Legion Field a few times for penny beer when I was in undergrad. Of course, BSC is off Arkadelphia, so I sort of lived in the neighborhood, just with a fence and armed security.

you are correct sir

Move LSU back to Pineville.

And the capital too, since you're going there anyway.

Birmingham is not the next Nashville or Charlotte. I remember when Birmingham was larger than Nashville and roughly the same size as Charlotte. Then the district lines for voting redrawn to where the city is and always will be managed by democrats. The city's high tax rate along with high crime rate made businesses move away to more favorable locations. Birmingham became the "imploding" city. If not for UAB, it would probably consists of the courthouse and two or three corporate bank buildings.

Couldn't do a worse job than Montgomery and I am fine with it. But I seriously doubt the people of Bham desire this. I sure as shite don't want that scum in my town.

It was in Huntsville once. They hired an extermination company to get rid of the fleas and the capital had to move. Why would you want to infest a nice town like Huntsville?
