If Biden backs out of all debates, the commercials Trump would run would be brutal

Biden has to debate. Polling already shows a majority of people think Biden has acuity issues. Refusing to debate solidifies the perception that Biden isn't here.

I think that the dementia was probably present before but has certainly accelerated in the past 4-5 months since Covid hit.

I’m not saying it isn’t a horrible look to skip them. It is. But one on one against Trump is a completely different game than the softball DNC debates. Trump is a savage on the debate stage. Biden can barely make it through staged appearances with notes right now.

The Biden camp refusing debates is a really bad look. It's a clear sign Biden is not mentally capable of being president. I mean, participating in the debates is a simple test to see if you can mentally perform under nominal pressure which is required as president.

I agree with you.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out and what trump does. I know he'll get on stage in some capacity and will just trash Biden the entire hour.

All Trump needs to do is say he will be there for a normal style debate regardless. He will debate an empty podium regardless of what the Biden campaign decides.
