Now that's brilliant marketing. Country music fans are among the biggest supporters of the Second Amendment and the highest concentration of gun owners, so they want their fans to wear orange to support liberal notions of gun control.
They just put a political turd in their customers punch bowl. Yeah, that recipe will make 'em love it! How stupid can they be?

Counterpoint: Do people who care about the 2A care about CMT? I thought CMT was basically just an overrun channel for CBS programming at this point. People are reacting like CMT is some integral part of gun/conservative culture and it's surprising to me.

Viacom doesn’t care.
Hell, they probably don’t care if the station goes under.
That might be their actual goal.
These people are under the sway of a false religion. Never underestimate the amount of harm to others and to themselves (self-sacrifice) they are willing to commit for “the greater good”.

It’s just one strand in the rope that is binding the hands of freedom.
Have you scanned the TV guide? It’s an all out offensive to convert everyone to the woke religion. There can be no dissent, and country music represents a large segment of dissent.

Major corporations love pandering to the government in an effort to get more of “our” money. I miss the days before we had cable.

Country music is full of cucks these days. Chris Stapleton is a giant pussy. One of the guys from Florida Georgia Line considered breaking the band up (I wish they had; they suck) because the other dude supports Trump. Dixie Chicks dropped their name to The Chicks. Lady Antebellum is now just Lady A because Antebellum might make people uncomfortable. Taylor Swift dabbles in country and she loves to chime in on politics.
Country music has been trash for years, way before this but yeah, this cuck and woke bull shite they're doing isn't helping at all.

Country Music Television urges viewers to ‘wear orange’ for gun control campaign
How about the lives saved annually with firearms.. from the CDC report:
quote:
Estimates of gun use for self-defense vary widely, in part due to definitional differences for self-defensive gun use; different data sources; and questions about accuracy of data, particularly when self-reported. The NCVS has estimated 60,000 to 120,000 defensive uses of guns per year. On the basis of data from 1992 and 1994, the NCVS found 116,000 incidents (McDowall et al., 1998). Another body of research estimated annual gun use for self-defense to be much higher, up to 2.5 million incidents, suggesting that self-defense can be an important crime deterrent (Kleck and Gertz, 1995). Some studies on the association between self-defensive gun use and injury or loss to the victim have found less loss and injury when a firearm is used (Kleck, 2001b).

I assumed so - I record and watch from time to time if it's two artist that I find interesting.

A few weeks back I was channel surfing and ran across the Grand Ole Opry.
Vince Gill was introducing his latest song. He started by apologizing for slavery, four hundred years ago.
I switched channels.
Enough!

Didn't know CMT still existed. I think the last time i saw it was in the mid 90's... back when they still played music videos.
