Overturning the election CANNOT be your motive for the audit, but it can be a moral obligation if/when result-changing fraud is discovered.

They have some shocking numbers coming, thats why they are making sure the audits integrity and validity cannot be questioned.
If the results were the same as election night, the side that would be disappointed wold just go back to work the next day so all this detail wouldnt be necessary. The side that will be disappointed though will go all out lunatic so this is why they are making this thing airtight.
