It says what it says. God allows Christians to take captives, rape them, humiliate them, and throw them out on the streets.

Did this continue in the new testament or was it a period of conflict in the old testament?
You also intentionally leave out the parts of that instruction that are decidedly NOT rapey and respect the woman.

I’m not a religious person, but people that try to defend the muslims by pointing a finger at modern christians is the biggest indicator that someone is naive and biased. It’s not the Christians they really hate, but the jews, but they dare not speak out against the jews out of fear of being called out for being racist. JMO.

If you read it in a vacuum, you see what you want to see.
All the other cultures in that reason would have allowed immediate rape of the captive women and then selling them into slavery. That is specifically prohibited by the proscriptions in this passage.

For all you know shaving and nail cutting was likely for hygienic purposes. But whatever... there is NO COMMAND to throw her out in the streets. There IS a direct command to not sell her OR treat her as a slave.
