We should have a community effort to keep both of these idiotic threads at the top of the page to illustrate the "spontaneity" of the local leftist population

I think you know that the vast majority of people don't spend one minute analyzing their actual and potential tax liability. They like easy. A check in the spring is easy.
Well I guess it’s time we educate the masses. People need to understand it’s how much you pay in taxes not how much you overpaid to the government just so you can get it back interest free. I know you Dims fear an informed electorate but it’s for their own good.

It’s hard to imagine that so many adults are so ignorant of their nation’sown taxpolicy. Congrats OP

Exactly. Dumbasses don’t want it back in the form of their regular pay. They want to wait for that lump sum check so they can go buy rims and big screen TVs. It’s sickening that these idiots votes count the same

What a stupid clown you are.
The amount from the tax cut offsets the refund amount. As to high income tax states. frick you.
You might want to work on electing officials that don't tax you to death.
I have 3,000 more in my bank and owe 165. Looks like the tax cut worked out fine for me and I'm not an uber rich company.
And since Democrats love rich people paying taxes then they should be happy that rich people in high income tax states will see an increase. What's wrong? Thought you wanted everyone paying their share.

because their withholdings from their paychecks are down too. They're getting their money back in every paycheck, so their refunds are lower.
Unfortunately most Americans don’t get this. That’s why we have 2 dozen post a day about smaller refunds.

My refund was way down this year, compared to years past. However, I know why mine is much lower. I used to have 2 additional dependents, and both got married last year, last year for youngest college credit, etc. Now only wife and I..
Posted on 2/9/19 at 8:51 pm to TigersFan64
I'm filing my taxes on tuesday... however the last 2 years I got back about $4,000... ( single no dependants).... this year my checks were about $400 more per month take home so I'm curious how mine will come out.
Posted on 2/9/19 at 9:27 pm to TigersFan64
You understand that the refund has nothing to do with the actual taxes paid--right???
Posted on 2/9/19 at 9:56 pm to TigersFan64
Just filed my taxes. My liability was down and I got a little back. Hail Trump.

I'm just going to pile on and say how retarded OP is.
It's this kind of ignorance that gets people like AOC elected.

I doubt many corporations and billionaires have filed their taxes already.

I think the problem a lot of people are going to have is that the withholding tables were not adjusted properly. I know several people who had no life changes and did not change their withholdings following the tax cut and went from a modest/no refund to owing several thousand and penalties for underwithholding.
These people are aware that they aren't paying more in taxes vs before. They are just annoyed that they were penalized for underwithholding when nothing changed in their lives.
