What's the story here?

They distanced themselves from Rittenhouse when he was pictured wearing a BRCC t-shirt. He wasn't being supported by BRCC in any way, and the company wanted people to know it.

And just like the Left, the Right will go out of their way to cancel a company that doesn't fully support every thought they have.

Nope, that would have been intelligent. They went the other route.

Nope. They’re anti 2a and routinely donate to leftist causes. They played on the emotions of patriotic Americans by using their service as the basis for their coffee marketing.

They’re fricking frauds and the worst kind of veteran.

BRCC came out and pretty much insulted, then distanced, themselves from their prime market. They tried to walk it back, but the damage had been done. To recall an old SNL skit: "Bad Career Move" on BRCC's part.

This is extreme hyperbole. This coffee advertises itself as American coffee run by American veterans and upholders of American values. Actively distancing themselves from and shitting on KR as opposed to ignoring him wearing their for sale memorabilia is not what they preached.

Churches make the same mistake.

They believe they will be able to make up the loss of their core base by pandering to the woke crowd and media by getting an even larger inflow of new congregation members from the woke side.

Instead they just lose their core audience and the woke crowd still hates them.

Same concept here. BRCC thought they would get a lot of new woke customers off the back of the media praise by trashing the right. Nope.

And that isn't really that drastic of a stance for a company that wants to stay politically neutral. But when your entire identity is politically based and primarily around the 2A and the right to defend yourself, it is idiotic not to come out in support of Rittenhouse's right to defend himself.

They did not have to support him financially but a simple statement along the lines of needing to let the justice system take its course is important but we believe in his right to defend himself, that would have been better than the efforts to distance themself from him so strongly.

They had a chance to show that their identity wasn't just a marketing scheme but instead did the exact opposite.

They did more than that. They were stupid and pretty much pulled the veil off their fake brand.

I’m good with that, yea.

If he had been convicted, this young man would have died in prison. That's what the people who pushed for Rittenhouse's conviction wanted. They wanted to permanently deprive him of his freedom and destroy his life.

So, yeah. frick THEM. I won't speak for the OP. But for me, I'm lashing out with hate.
