Didn't Congress have to pass a law to put him in? Or was that Mattis?

It's funny because you think it's all about trump while you've SYSTEMATICALLY been getting eliminated from the overall process by many measures.

At best it makes the administration look incompetent.

Your memory is rather short. Remember how Trump kept getting chastised for all the turmoil involving turnover within his campaign. "The guy doesn't know what he is doing", "the guy has no idea on judging people", etc?

Yeah, all that inexperience did was to get him elected. Why? Because Trump has no problem with making adjustments when there's a call for it. A rather novel approach compared to the last eight years before him. Anyone bashing Trump for firing someone so quickly and attributing it to his being incompetent for the job only needs to look at the Lynch/Clinton tarmac meeting. If there ever was a reason for getting rid of someone, it was Lynch. Yet, well you know the rest of that story.

Or, Clinton didn't get elected because of smart people. Half empty, half full type argument here huh?

I am interested in how the FBI recorded the phone call between he and the Russian Ambassador at the time if Flynn was a citizen and not NSA that would be a violation of his rights.

Um..... just guessing here but Flynn probably wasn't the target of the recordings a

So how would it be known that Flynn's conversation involved mention of sanctions? No excuse for his lying, but were intelligence reports leaked?

quote:

He has been in the hot seat since Friday, when The Washington Post first reported that nine current and former officials had seen intelligence reports asserting that he discussed sanctions with Ambassador Sergei Kislyak, despite his assertions to The Post, to Vice President Mike Pence and to Spicer that the subject didn't come up.

A senior intelligence official confirmed to NBC News that Flynn discussed the Obama sanctions, which were imposed to punish Russia for a campaign to interfere in the election in part to help Trump.

The intelligence official said there had been no finding inside the government that Flynn did anything illegal.

just heard the guy that broke this story indicate the Fbi and the NSA were monitoring the Russian ambassador dude's communications and Flynn got sucked up in the surveillance. They were not actively following Flynn.

As expected, dems are on this like flies to shite. I wonder how many of them recognize this guy was an Obama appointee.

As a trump fan, he had to go. Can't afford to keep him after he lied to the admin and made the VP look like a liar on national tv

That's what I'm reading. But how did the fact that the Obama administration was monitoring communication of Russian officials and the details of Flynn's phone conversation end up on the news in the first place?

Again, the SOB lied to the American people and the Vice President-elect. He's a weed that needed to be pulled...but it's a bit odd how this unfolded. Seems like we would not want the entire world knowing that we are monitoring Russian diplomats (although I'm sure that would be a safe assumption at any given time).

Mattis had an exclusionary rule that should have prevented him from serving the Trump admin...the Pubs waived the rule and confirmed him.

It's pretty safe to say that we're observing all embassies in our country and Russia is doing the same with ours

the Doj has been investigating Russian contacts with the Trump general election team since last summer. Im sure this was part of a Fisa warrant and apparently Yates told the white house counsel three weeks ago that Flynn was compromised and it slowly leaked out thru the white house staffers.

NBC actually cited a senior intelligence official, not a White House insider. What does "senior intelligence official" that mean exactly?

I dont know who that was but you do understand that reporters have a spider web of contacts they go to when they need something and they are all over DC.

you know how these things work. Im sure it started as a minor leak in the white house staff to be later confirmed by a higher up.

I haven't really been following this story too closely, so I'm trying to catch up. My impression is that it doesn't look good to have to shitcan this guy a month in, but if he lied about his conversations, i have no issue with showing him the door. Secondly, this situation would be a thousand times worse if the Trump admin had lifted the sanctions put on Russia by the Obama admin for supposed election meddling. That would have people drawing all kinds of crazy conclusions. As it stands now though it appears that the situation has been dealt with.

there will be investigation and congressional inquests, you can bet on that. this is just getting started. and Im sorry to say this and Im sure ill get roasted by Trumpkins, but this is just the start of the end for Trump.

something nasty is going to come to light, month, month and half tops.
