lol... It is called a "spit hood". Every police department in the country uses them. They keep the fluids in, but the person can see and breathe fine.

The homeless should be executed and their organs harvested

Usually I drive around with the windows up and AC on. Last week I thought it might be nice to drive with the windows down and feel the breeze. Unfortunately it seems there are homeless bums begging with signs at almost every other intersection in the city of Dallas. I didn't want them approaching and talking to me, which is way more likely with the windows down. Finally I realized I can't even peacefully drive in the city with the windows down. They ruin the experience.

Jesus. The fricking crazy loons strike again.

The bag over the bread is too prevent them from spitting on law enforcement.

Just FYI, they spit on police, they would definitely spit on you walking by them.

I can't understand why liberals feel that public property allows homeless people to claim it. That's not the way it works. They are for the public to share.

Homeless should not be allowed to live in large train stations. They do this because they don't want to stay in a shelter and follow the rules. No drinking and no drugs.

Trump is doing a great job.

Which of these city streets do you prefer?
Do you want your tax dollars spent on trying to be the top or bottom picture?
Explain your answer.

Late 90s and early 2000s the progressives began their initial run at religious organizations. They started putting regulations and laws in the way of helping homeless and drug addicts. Many Catholic, Methodist and Baptist inner city missions had to shut down because of red tape. (as well as other religious groups)

Interestingly enough they pivoted to illegal aliens after that, but they helped manage the "homeless" insane and drug addict people in and around cities for decades. We should allow them to go back to that again.

Still, most homeless do not want to live by the rules of the shelter. For them there should be prison.

Ok worst case scenario...federal troops stay indefinitely in the city...and the city just stays safe indefinitely? Youre really painting a bleak picture here

True. The State Police partnership with NOPD has made a positive difference.
Federal troops and/or the National Guard amounts to overreach, and, in the end is counterproductive.

It is the state and local officials who need to clean up their parts of the country.

Exactly. If Baltimore, L.A., Oakland, St. Louis, etc, want to live in filth and squalor, that's between their residents and their local government. Someone in the 'burbs in Texas shouldn't have to pay the federal government to clean up the slums of San Francisco.

I honestly don’t get this point. How is the mere presence of nat guard on streets of DC akin to east Berlin?

If they stay within their mission of law enforcement and clearly homeless encampments from public areas, it’s essentially a city cleanup program, not stasi communism.

Do you think the nat guard is randomly arresting people and killing random people?

I say we start a program to move all the urban homeless to the rurals so we can take nice pictures of the cities like you want.

i was responding to the poster who said let’s just have federal troops in all cities indefinitely

i personally think what’s happening in DC is executive overreach but it was (stupidly) legalized by Congress for up to 30 days. we’ll see what he does when the 30 days are up.

i know most of you only care about red team vs blue team but i think the checks and balances are important

i also don’t think we should be “disappearing” people for the crime of being homeless.
