Roger thinks he knows what he's talking about because he works at a port. He repeatedly shows he does not understand economics, and will pretend you are stupid because you do.

This will hurt American auto companies. We still need the inputs from Canada and Mexico and you don't just replace that overnight.

The only reason these auto plants are in Canada is because Canada was imposing tariffs on US manufactured cars.

Because you can’t turn a Dodge plant into a chinaman car plant overnight.

What do I win?

I think that is the old Buick plant. Made great sedans when Buick still made sedans.

No. That's why throwing shite at a wall isn't an actual long term plan.

Anyone denying this is drunk on the Kool Aide.

And it's not just the "American" companies.

. They don't realize "American made" still has foreign components.

Used car prices are slowly rising after months of declines.
The average used car listing price in April 2025 is $25,128.
Increased demand during the spring car buying season is likely to push prices higher in the coming weeks.

I was surprised that he used a neutral term to describethe effects of the Trump tariffs:"monumental."

We sure hope so!

You can see this (Stellantis) plant from GM's RenCen in downtown Detroit.

Originally opening in 1928 because of Canadian tariffs and nothing else.

A plant that has no doubt been fully integrated onto the North American Supply Chain since the late 60s

Bravo Sierra. This is not throwing shite at a wall. It is standing up like a man. Those other countries will cave and drop their tariffs. They need the US market more than we need their products. Might be some short term pain, but the end result will be worth the pain.

A glorified suburb of Detroit, for those who are unfamiliar. A decent chunk of its' population is dual American-Canadian citizens.
