You're a liar. Why do you feel the need to lie?

If Fox News did the same for Obama I'd have no problem. Americans should know who's in charge in emergency situations.

Hey where ya been? Glad you're back. Why do kittens knead blankets like they are breastfeeding from the mother still? I don't recall my other cats doing this. Is it because her mother was killed and she never had breastfeeding?

You know they are praying for something like that to happen. CNN needs to go bankrupt. It is the worst thing on TV.

That's why he should be sworn in at 00:01 and the "inauguration" would be just for show.

A Good example of DC being dysfunctional is the 3rd in line is basically the oldest guy in the senate currently Orin hatch. I will predict hatch goes against his pledge to retire in 2018 because he is too important now.

Even CNN has reached a new low- why theorize on assassinating- were these comments ever made about a presidential elect ever before?

quote:

CNN has been criticized for airing a report which revealed that an Obama appointee would become president if Donald Trump was killed during an attack on the inauguration tomorrow. Entitled Disaster could put Obama cabinet member in Oval Office, the report admits that there is no specific threat targeting the inauguration, but goes on to speculate about “who would be in charge if an attack hit the incoming president….just as the transfer of power is underway”. An individual named the “designated presidential successor” will not attend the inauguration as a security precaution, “but it won’t be a Trump cabinet secretary….it will be an Obama appointee,” reports CNN.

Obama appointed Kerry.

Actually there are a lot of new- Presidential orders/memorandas of Succession. If needed I am sure Wolfie knows what they all really mean in a pinch.

I remember when CNN ran this same story prior to Obama's inauguration!

Just squirrel Orrin Hatch away in a bunker somewhere. He doesn't need to be outside in the weather at his age anyway.

Seriously...if something like this happens, and the Dems trot out Shannon, here comes Hatch out of hiding..."Not so fast, boys."

Not CNN. YOU said CNN ran a story just like the one in the OP EVERY state of the union. All you can find is a two paragraph ABC.com article? Where is the CNN segment? Give me one from any of the last 8 years since 2015 didn't have one.

Thanks for proving my point and proving you were lying. Like I said. Must suck to be so reactionary and disingenuous. You are the edgy contrarian. So cool.

Here's a quote from the transcript of CNN's coverage of last years State of the Union:

quote:

BLITZER: You know, Jake, there is one member of the Obama cabinet who will not be in attendance. There's always one member of the cabinet for an emergency for whatever reason, the designated survivor as some call that individual. We now know who it is.

TAPPER: That's right. This has been going on since the 1960s since the fears of nuclear war with Russia. Although they've only started to make the name of that designated survivor public since the 1980s so whoever had Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx on their designated survivor bingo, that's the designated survivor. If the absolute worst happens, Anthony Foxx would be president. A very obscure, but I suppose necessary tradition.

BLITZER: They take that very, very seriously. The Secret Service takes it seriously. The National Security Council, the designated survivor got those - all of those codes. It's all a pretty big deal right now.

If you watch CNN leading up to the State of the Union they'll talk about designated survivors and usually have brief videos with interviews of past designated survivors. Most of them hole up at a family member's place and are scared shitless throughout the entire speech.

If you want to watch a CNN video where they are talking about what would happen if Obama and Biden were assassinated I'd direct you to the video in the OP.

If you want even more CNN coverage of designated survivors or Presidential line of succession I'd recommend learning how to use Google.

Well they would have to blow up to many Dems in attendance to pull it off.

As many Dems as have announced they're NOT attending, wonder if they weren't secretly tipped off to some nefarious plan.

Until I see President-Elect Trump sworn in (and I will be watching) I'm not discounting anything. When you're dealing with those who have been "given over to a reprobate mind", anything is possible.

I have had a bad feeling about this now for a couple of weeks. I mean, 'one' doesn't have to be a clairvoyant. Review a list of things tried. JFKing DJT could be next-- as surreal as it sounds. Also SEE Reagan.

Actually watch the video. They talk about what would happen if Obama and Biden were assassinated before the inauguration and what would happen if Trump and Pence were assassinated after being sworn in. They also bring up how weird the line of succession is when cabinet members haven't taken their post yet.

This thread is pure histrionics
