re: Cracker Barrel Responds

Cracker Barrel was founded during a time when there were no quality dinning options at most interstate exits. They formed their entire business model and philosophy around this reality and it served them well until everyone else caught up. We live in a time now where every town of any size is oversaturated with dining options, and most of those towns are easily accessible off the interstate. Cracker Barrel is no longer the only option, and competition is fierce in every aspect of the restaurant business. Cracker Barrel has done a very poor job at trying to adapt to this new reality.

Choosing not to give business to a business that supports the woke agenda. Pretty simple. No outrage. I’ll just choose to go somewhere else on my family roadtrips.
Your need to paint that as outrage is strange. Almost like it is you that is outraged.

You are describing leftist sky screamers not Americans.
Nice try though, now run along and don't miss your afternoon pegging.

Leftists and MAGA sky screamers, yes.
They're 2 peas on opposite sides of the same pod

Interesting take here.
I don't need a watch to tell me what time it is.
Otherwise the content is palpable.

There is a Cracker Barrel near where my wife and I stay when we visit our grandchildren.
They like to go there for the waffles with sprinkles.
There is always a line to get in there, but there is always plenty of open tables.
The problem is that they have no waitstaff. They have plenty of "we're hiring"
signs.
Maybe instead of remodeling and changing logos, how about enhancing employee pay and benefits where you can capitalize on the food and service.
I don't care about decor as much as I care about food and service.

I did not know until yesterday that CB sponsored this Nashville Pride event. Thanks, PT, for informing us! MSM and CB sure didn't want us to know. Got to find a new place to eat now on our way back and forth to Vanderbilt Medical Center. I'm done with Cracker Barrel. LINK

-Not sure why y'all are getting so worked up about a simple rebrand. They had to do something. Their customers were dying off. SFP.

Eh, the outrage is posting about it for all to see. If a leftist were doing it, you’d call it virtue signaling.
As I’ve already mentioned, I’ve only been to CB twice in my life, the latest around 15 years ago. Even then, I’d call it corporate chain carb slop. I don’t care either way. I’m just telling you what I think the corporate perspective is for these recent changes.

It’s weird that you think the two are related though. A lot of companies went all in on the LBGTQ+ stuff a few years ago. In fact, a lot that you probably still patronize without realizing it. But what about this “rebrand” screams “gay pride”?

The part where people do a deeper dive into CB because of the rebrand and discover the gay pride sponsoring nonsense, among other things.

That is true. It is also because we didn't know about it and are just now finding out about it.

But I already acknowledged that. I’m asking how the two are related. And if you cared so much about the gay pride stuff, why didn’t you express this outrage then? It almost seems like you all were cool with that stuff, but the logo change set you off. Again, kind of odd.

The die hard right can boycott Cracker Barrell. I am totally for it. It's their choice and it will mean a lot less of a wait for those peak times.
But in all honesty, a lot of Americans don't live/die by politics and may have not even known they changed the logo. So the boycott, although it makes some impact, will not send them into bankruptcy or anything.
And plenty of die hard right that live behind their keyboards will still go to Cracker Barrell, let's be honest.

You are being purposely obtuse, aren't you? Just being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. Question is... why?
For fun? To sully up the conversation to attempt to throw it off course? Why?
But heck, I'll play...
Didn't know about the gay nonsense because, well, I didn't think I'd have to worry about Cracker Barrel of all people supporting one of those events.
They do a rebrand... people look deeper into the company and discover that "hey... they DID support that crap."
Is it THAT hard for you to understand?

Yes. It does not fit a radical left narrative so it’s like an ancient foreign language.

Some of you are so naive. It’s a corporation. I’m glad that you think it’s (or was) a true sliver of Americana. Apple pie and maw-maw’s biscuits. Honestly, that just makes you a rube. You bought the snake oil. I’m glad that you’re finding out the truth, and I’m sorry it’s shattering your world view a little, but you’ll be better off in the end. But refer to me as the one who’s being obtuse.
CB is in the business of making money. They’ll do whatever they can to do so. It may work, it may fail.
