What are you even talking about?

YouTube down votes are still there. Always have been AFAICT. Not unexpected that Fox would have a higher ratio than NBC, but they are still there.

They didn't take away the down vote button, they stopped displaying down votes, only show up votes

Google is nothing but manipulation. They don't realize that such ham handed BS only undermines the shreds of their credibility.

The downvotes show for me. I don't have a posting site account (I guess that's what I would need to post a screenshot?).

I'm viewing it in a Firefox web browser on a (Linux) laptop. Maybe you are using the Youtube app?

It's cool. I believe you.

Not an app. It's like that for me no matter what I'm using. I do not have Linux.

You do not need an account here to host pictures. https://postimages.org/

It's the one I used.

For the last two weeks I've been watching at least 10 videos per day and none of them have downvote totals. IE, they all look like this:

Thumbs up key: 3K Thumbs down key: 'Dislike'
There are no totals on downvotes like there are on upvotes.

Weird. I just tried both FireFox and Chrome browser on my Linux laptop, Chrome browser on my Android tablet, and tried both Chrome and Safari on my wife's (old) MacBook Pro. All show the same down vote count.

I tried re-sizing the window, thinking maybe it chomps out some of the text to fit as you shrink it. Still shows the count.

So I don't think it is a youtube thing, the info is there. Maybe something with the Windows version of the browser you use (I'm assuming you are on Windows)?

Weird. If I use Brave, it shows up. Chrome with Firefox and it doesn't.

It was this.

It's called the "Schumer Effect." It's named after Amy Schumer's Netflix special that was mercilessly given a low rating. Uncle Chuck probably threatened them with taxes or some BS and the switched to a thumbs up/down scheme. Now I have to go to an alternative site like Rotten Tomatoes and ignore the critics and look at the real ratings. It's horseshite.

For YouTube, probably, but remember when Netflix ditched their 5 star rating system because of Amy Schumer's special getting absolutely massacred due to her liberal hypocrisy?

Edit: I see NPComb already covered this.

Made another test. Some explanation, but even more questions.

I opened a 'Private Window', I set my "User-Agent Switcher" to "Windows/FireFox 83" (this tells the site what system I'm using, and since some sites say they don't support Linux, if you trick them into thinking you are Windows, they appear to work just fine).

And then I get it. "Dislikes" w/o the number, like others are seeing.

What to make of that?

UPDATE to my Posted on 11/26/21 at 9:03 am to Zach

Yesterday I noticed, no DISLIKE tally, even on my LINUX machine, same link I had where they were shown before.

Geez, hard not to think it is in response to the tremendous amount of dislikes some "woke" videos have got lately.

Though I recall a few years back, all those celebrities talking about racism and how they "will do better' got tons of dislikes. No we won't know. Pathetic.

I just tried that link in a "Private Browser" window, so no sign-in, no cookies, and in both I get no number on the DISLIKE, only a number for the LIKES.

Here's that old celebrities "taking responsibility" for "racism":

This guy captured the DISLIKES from two weeks ago when they still appeared. Now gone!

The dislike visibility is still available for me (11/18/2021). This video is sitting at 1.5K Likes and 92K dislikes

I'm gonna do some more searching on this...
