Your question (maybe) should have read man-made global warming. I think we go up and down naturally, as history pretty much proves.

There is only so much carbon and so much oxygen available. Mankind cannot effect that. Its a zero sum game. Increases in the atmosphere, reduces the amounts from other areas, which result in a cyclical cooling

Its not really that hard of a concept

The Northern Hemisphere is slowly warming. Human activity is at least part of the reason. It would be smart if we continued to move away from fossil fuel use in the slow manner we are currently. It is either ignorant or shortsighted to spend so much time, $$$,
and energy fighting what MOST scientists suggest is happening.

Maybe that's why, NOT ONE climate model has accurately predicted what has actually occurred?
Sure. Clearly they don't understand the climate as well as they think.

I still don't know what that has to do with your "zero-sum" post. Even if there is no tangible impact on the climate, it doesn't make sense that some gas derived from a liquid or solid source--often miles below the surface--is offset due to taking it from the original source.

What is the reason for the remainder? What percentage of the whole does that reason constitute?

I believe our actions have an adverse impact on the environment.

I do not believe in global warming.

And every computer simulation factored this into their models, and yet NONE of them got within what would be a reasonable margin of error

Flat out wrong

Which goes back to the point, that you just cannot continue to assume that C02 will continue to rise, without an unknown, as of yet, planetary reaction. Because this . . . .

Doesn't add up to this

But, I do think global warming is beneficial to us if it is occurring and I think AGW is a crock of shite.

And I was telling my brother as we were hunting this past Sunday morning, wet and freezing our arses off for 2 ducks, "Dude, if we would have taken my Jeep and your Tahoe instead of me riding with you, it could possibly be .8 degrees warmer in 30 years!" Crock of shite is the whole AGW climate change crap!

No...and now that President Trump is in and Pruitt taking over the EPA, global warming/climate change will no long be much of an political issue.

97% of climate scientists agree that global warming is real. I'm not sure how so many people disagree with 97% of climate scientists.

While the disconnect is interesting, the consensus argument is a classic "appeal to authority" though.

Global warming and cooling is a natural part of nature and has been happening since the planet formed.

As far as how our cars and coal plants are factoring in really is political and the scientists have been politicized instead of just doing black and white scientific work.

CO2 from fuels stands no chance of displacing enough oxygen to make the planent inhabitable.

Interesting, but that wasn't my point. Habitability doesn't just mean having free oxygen available, it also refers to sea level rise displacing people from their habitations.

The fact is that it is extremely unlike that the Earth has come to some sort of climatological equilibrium, therefore the temperature is either rising or lowering. We have to decide what we can live with.

Perhaps the overall effects of global warming would be a net positive for habitation, or perhaps not. We need to determine what the climate is doing, then we need to determine whether it is a net positive or negative, then if we decide that it is a net negative, we need to determine what are the causes and if we can influence climate such that we optimize habitability.

Unfortunately the whole conversation has become politicized such that our efforts to understand the dynamics are being inhibited.

Personally, speaking from an inhabitant of coastal Louisiana, I have determined that there is a net negative to the effects of sea level rise. Any phenomena causing sea level rise, whether isostatic or eustatic, is of concern to me and should be addressed.

ACOE management of the Mississippi River delta is about 10000X more important in that regard.

Just like 97% of football coaches saying we will win a championship this year. Their salaries dictate that they say this whether it's true or not.
