I thought it had something to do with Trump, but I guess not.

You missed the part about Manafort's crimes occurring while he was Trump's campaign manager, and obstruction to protect those crimes pertaining to his time as Trump's campaign manager...

It comes back to the same question they harped on during Watergate - what did the president (or in this case the candidate) know and when did he know it?

K

Run with that.

Steele? Weiner? The FISA Judge? Papadopoulos? Comey? Stone? Hillary? Podesta? Zuckerberg? All were Russian assets in one way or another. WTF is the reference to?

Are you bothered by Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and every other site doing this on an everyday basis for millions of people?

They literally announce they are collecting data to sell, Google has made a fortune selling millions of data points to everyone from foreign interests to local polling groups.

If this is the "gotcha" its really hard to care. It has nothing to do with being a Trump supporter, everything to do with being a miniscule piece of that data in a small pond compared to what websites already do.

Is that illegal?
What was the purpose of giving the Russians that information? To have the Russians give support to the campaign using the information?

The campaign cannot accept .electioneering assistance from a foreign actor

Let me get this straight - you think the man that WORKED DIRECTLY FOR THE CAMPAIGN gave it to Russians to directly aid the campaign?

Explain how that works, exactly.

You use a lot of legal terms, but clearly don’t know their meaning. How lazy.

Not in the least. Why? Should it? Please tell me why it should

That's what I thought when I saw the story in my news feed. Seems meaningless.

This got Manafort into deep doodoo with the investigation.
quote:

Defense lawyers filed the court document in response to allegations by Mueller that Manafort shared the information with alleged Russian spy Konstantin Kilimnik. Though key passages detailing the exact allegations were blacked out, news organizations, including CNBC and The Washington Post, were able to read the redacted sentences by copying and pasting the entire document into a word processing program.

His lawyers later refiled the documents, correcting the error.

Mueller said Manafort broke his plea deal by lying to prosecutors about his dealings with Russians, in particular Kilimnik, who worked for Manafort's consulting firm. Prosecutors said Manafort and Kilimnik also discussed a possible peace plan in Ukraine.

There is speculation he will say he forgot.

What is it you don't understand?

Did you disregard the second part of the post --

bragged about mafia dealings

A real estate developer in New York City had to go through the mafia in the 80s and 90s...

I'm shocked!
